Abstract

TITLE OF THE INVENTION: WATER TREATMENT DEVICE AND METHOD The water treatment device (50) comprises: - a watertight walled treatment basin having a plurality of compartments (58, 59) separated, two by two, by a watertight partition (57), each compartment having at least one layer of aggregates (60), - a wastewater inlet (51) into the basin, and - a treated water outlet (70) from the basin.This device further comprises, for at least two compartments of this plurality of compartments: - a gravity transfer means (54) between these compartments, - a forced transfer means (53) of water from one of these compartments to another compartment, and - a control means (52) for the gravity transfer means and the forced transfer means configured to control, in cycles, a hydraulic isolation of the compartments by the absence of transfer between these compartments, then a gravity transfer without forced transfer between these compartments, then a forced transfer without gravity transfer between these compartments.
