Abstract

Communication method and driver assistance device for implementing the method. The invention relates to a communication method between a vehicle (1) traveling in a lane (2, 7), and a motorcycle (3). According to the invention, the method comprises the following steps: - when said vehicle intends to leave said lane, send a warning signal (S1) containing a message representing the intention of said vehicle to leave said lane, - when said warning signal (S1) is received by said motorcycle (3), send a response signal (S2) containing information representing the speed and position of said motorcycle, - when said vehicle receives said response signal, perform a calculation to determine whether a lane change is feasible, - based on the result of said calculation step, send said vehicle an instruction signal.
