Abstract

The invention relates to an immersion device (10) for fighting fires in electric motor vehicles on the deck of a transport vessel, of the type comprising a plurality of panels (14a, 14b, 16a, 16b, 16c, 16d) that delimit an enclosure (18) intended to surround a motor vehicle (12) and to contain a fire extinguishing agent, characterized in that it is intended for use on a ferromagnetic floor (20), and in that at least one electromagnet (48) is arranged on the lower part of each panel (14a, 14b, 16a, 16b, 16c, 16d), each electromagnet (48) being controlled between an inactive state in which the electromagnet (48) is inoperative and an active state in which the electromagnet (48) is supplied by an electric current generating a magnetic field that presses the panel (14a, 14b, 16a, 16b, 16c, 16d) associated on said ferromagnetic soil (20).
