TITLE OF THE INVENTION: METHOD AND DEVICE FOR POLISHING AND PIPING RESULTING FROM THEIR IMPLEMENTATION The method (56 to 59) for polishing a previously ground weld bead comprises at least one pass (58), on the previously ground weld bead, in the downstream direction, of an abrasive belt having, on its surface, tungsten carbide abrasive grains, with a size between 40 microns and 200 microns, with an abrasive grain speed between 380 and 680 millimeters per second, with an abrasive belt feed speed between 20 and 150 millimeters per minute, and with a depth of cut between 0.5 and two millimeters.
