Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for detecting thermal runaway of an electrochemical energy storage element implemented by an acoustic analysis unit, comprising the following successive steps of recording (E1) an acoustic signal of said electrochemical element, processing (E2) said acoustic signal by Fourier transform decomposition and recording a frequency spectrum of said processed acoustic signal, comparing (E3) said frequency spectrum with at least one predetermined spectrum envelope table and recording a spectral lookup table identifying a level of correspondence between the frequency spectrum and the predetermined spectrum envelope table for a plurality of frequency ranges, determining (E4) a recognition score calculated from the sum of the correspondence levels of the spectral lookup table, detection (E5) of a thermal runaway when the recognition score is greater than a predetermined threshold.
