Abstract

Method of controlling a charger (1) for a vehicle electrical energy storage unit, the charger (1) comprising: - a connector (3) suitable for connection to an electrical network capable of supplying a three-phase alternating voltage, - an inverter / rectifier (6), comprising three switching arms (7) mounted in parallel, each switching arm (7) suitable for connection to a respective phase of the alternating voltage, - a fourth switching arm (10) mounted in parallel with the switching arms (7) of the inverter / rectifier, suitable for connection to the neutral of the electrical network, and - a branch (13) mounted in parallel with said switching arms (7, 10), comprising two capacitors (14) arranged on either side of a fifth midpoint (15), and a measuring resistor (17), mounted in series with one of the capacitors (14),a first switch (20) being connected in parallel with the measuring resistor (17) and a second switch (21) being connected in series between the fourth (12) and fifth (15) midpoints, the method comprising the following successive steps: - the inverter / rectifier being activated to apply a first control voltage across the branch terminals, with the first switch (20) and the second switch (21) open, - the inverter / rectifier (6) being activated so that the branch (13) is no longer electrically powered, - the first (20) and second (21) switches being closed, and - the inverter / rectifier (6) being activated to apply a second control voltage across the branch terminals, with the first (20) and second (21) switches closed. Abbreviated figure: Fig. 1.
