Abstract

A method for manufacturing a security device comprising: Providing a transparent window having a front face, including a microlens array of focal length "f", and a rear face; Defining an overall image having at least two patterns configured to represent at least two images visible to an observer from different viewing angles through the array; Positioning the overall image relative to the array; and Engraving the overall image through the rear face and between an engraving plane and the rear face, the engraving plane being located between the front face and the object focal plane of the microlenses and being at a distance "d" from the rear face equal to or less than one-third of the focal length "f".
