Multi-function Rotating Synchronous Electric Machine

Abstract

A self-piloted synchronous rotating electric machine comprising a stator (10) equipped with coils, a rotor (1) fixed to a central shaft (2) and whose periphery is equipped with permanent magnets (3) or magnetic segments, and a control unit controlling three-phase power supply means for the stator coils and means for detecting the position of the rotor (1) (40). The permanent magnets (3) or the magnetic segments protrude from the rotor (1) in an axial direction at each axial end of the rotor (1), forming two annular magnetic end rings (30, 30') that create a recess between the inside of the protruding ends of the magnets (3) or magnetic segments and the periphery of the central shaft (2).
