Configuring a communication network, adapted to a total amount of traffic

Abstract

A method is proposed for managing a communication network comprising a set of network access units adapted to cover a geographical area. This method is implemented by computer and comprises, for at least one access unit: a determination (15, 16, 17) of an access unit configuration, the configuration being adapted to a total amount of traffic to be transmitted in the geographical area; the determination taking into account interference due to simultaneous transmissions from a plurality of other network access units. The interference is obtained by applying (1) a signal propagation model in the geographical area, in which the signal propagation model takes into account an overall contribution of the other network access units to the interference, the overall contribution being determined as a function of an average distance between the network access units.
