Abstract

A crossbeam (PTR) is fitted to the rear end of a land vehicle (V) and comprises lower (SPI1) and upper (SPS) sub-sections having generally rectangular cross-sections, and an intermediate sub-section (SPI2) connecting these lower (SPI1) and upper (SPS) sub-sections at a rear zone (ZR). This intermediate sub-section (SPI2) is entirely located within the lower half (MIP) of the crossbeam (PTR), which also contains the lower sub-section (SPI1), so that it can be positioned opposite a test beam (PTT) during a regulated impact test performed on the land vehicle (V).
