Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for extracting native water from Camellia japonica flowers and to the extract obtainable by this method. The method according to the present invention comprises a step in which Camellia japonica flowers are treated with microwaves under conditions effective in heating the medium to a temperature between 40°C and 90°C. The extract thus obtained exhibits remarkable anti-aging properties and can therefore be used to prevent or reduce skin aging.
