Abstract
A control method for implementing protection in a hybrid vehicle in the event of an electrical overcurrent event. The hybrid vehicle comprises a traction battery (2) and a powertrain with an internal combustion engine (1) and a first electric traction machine (ME1). The method comprises: S1 - a step of repeatedly measuring the current delivered by the traction battery. If the current delivered exceeds a limit threshold for a predetermined duration, the method implements protective measures including: S2 - Switching or leaving the powertrain in pure thermal mode, S3 - Inhibiting the operation of the first electric machine, S4 - Opening the traction battery isolation contacts, S5 - Inhibiting regenerative braking, S6 - Inhibiting the Start-Stop function, S7 - Providing an indication to a user.
