Abstract
A method for limiting overspeed in an aircraft turbomachine (10) by friction and braking of a rotor (20) with a stator (16), the turbomachine (10) comprising: - a rotor (20) free to rotate about an axis (A) and having external annular blades (34) extending around the axis (A), and - a stator (16) carrying at least one sealing ring (32) extending around the axis (A) and surrounding the external annular blades (32) to form at least one labyrinth seal (30), the method comprising the following steps: a) the accidental rupture of the rotor (20), and b) the friction of the rotor (20) on the stator (16) to brake the rotor at the labyrinth seal (30).
