Light device against the skin of a motor vehicle bumper

Abstract

The invention relates to a motor vehicle lighting device (20), in particular a rear light. The lighting device (20) comprises a housing (26) directly attached to the main structure of the motor vehicle; an outer lens (28); a recess (50) between the housing and the outer lens; a light source (52); and the outer lens comprising a first edge (38) running along a bumper skin (14) and having a first length. The housing (26) is a single piece and includes a retaining groove (30) with a retaining surface (64) continuous over at least half of the first length of the first edge. The retaining surface (64) cooperates with a second edge (32) of the bumper skin and includes retention means (58) cooperating with said second edge of the bumper skin to hold the bumper skin along the outer lens (28).
