Abstract
A method for monitoring insulation faults in a high-voltage circuit of an electric or hybrid motor vehicle, this vehicle comprising a battery module (2) including electrochemical cells (8) having a positive terminal (12) and a negative terminal (14) supplying a discharge circuit and a charging circuit. This method periodically and independently performs, for each terminal (12, 14), a measurement of its voltage with respect to a vehicle ground and a measurement of the current flowing through that terminal. It then calculates its impedance from these measurements by dividing the absolute value of its voltage by its current. Next, this impedance value is compared with a calibrated minimum impedance threshold for that terminal. An insulation fault is then detected on that terminal (12, 14) if this value is below the calibrated threshold for a minimum period of time. Figure 1
