Abstract

A monitoring system (2) for equipping a checkout terminal (1) incorporating a display device (13) configured to display information relating to an item (3) to be paid for, this system (2) comprising: - an image sensor (21) configured for acquiring an image of said item (3); - a processing module (22) configured to determine, in said image, a candidate item corresponding to said item (3) to be paid for; - a capture device (23) configured to retrieve in real time display signals intended for the display device (13) and convert these signals into content in a predefined format; the processing module being further configured to verify the presence or absence, in said content, of information relating to the candidate item.
