Abstract
A treat dispensing device 1 for an animal comprising a control mechanism 2 actuated by a human user; and a treat dispenser 3 configured to be secured close to the mouth of an animal, e.g., horse, donkey, camel. The control mechanism takes the form of a hand pump in fluid communication with the treat dispenser and is pneumatically actuated. The treat dispenser has a treat store 4, wherein the store is a flask for sweetened liquid having an inlet in communication with the hand pump and an outlet with the treat dispenser. The treat dispenser may have a fluid outlet (Figure.2:13) or a plurality of fluid outlets (Figure.3:13,15) in series, with each outlet having duck billed valve (Figure.2:13). The treat dispenser may be formed integrally with a bit (Figure.2:10) inside the mouth and connectable to the bridle or may be secured to the bridle in the proximity of the mouth. The treat store may be configured to store solid treats (Figure.4:17) to be ejected individually when the control mechanism is actuated pneumatically, and spring loaded for reloading the next solid treat.
