Abstract
A predictive maintenance system 1 for an automobile to perform diagnostics comprises at least one sensor input 12 for monitoring a component of the automobile, at least one recorder device 16 for recording data generated by the at least one sensor input 12 and a first electronic control unit 17 for executing an algorithm software to process the data from the at least one sensor input 12, to detect an error in the component based on processed data from the at least one sensor input 12, and to determine the diagnosis based on the error. A second electronic control unit 19 controls a user interface of a head unit and causes the display of the diagnosis on the head unit. The first electronic control unit preferably determines a remedy or fix for the component based on the diagnosis. The sensor may be a microphone 13 or a gyroscope 14. The first electronic control unit may be connected to the cloud 20 to retrieve diagnosis-related information. There may be a machine learning element to the system. A method and computer program having the functionality of the system are also disclosed.
