Claims

1) An electric motor comprising a rotor, a stator, a first brake element and a second brake element, wherein the first brake element is arranged to be mounted to the rotor and a bearing via one or more removable coupling elements to allow the rotor to be rotatably coupled to the stator, wherein the first brake element has a first surface; the second brake element has a second surface and is mounted to the stator and movable from a first position to a second position, wherein when the second brake element is in the second position the second surface is arranged to be in contact with the first surface to inhibit rotational movement of the rotor relative to the stator, wherein the first brake element is arranged to be dismounted via the removable coupling elements from the rotor and the bearing to allow the first brake element to be moved axially away from the rotor and the stator.2) An electric motor of claim 1, wherein the removable coupling elements comprises one or more rotor fixation holes formed in the rotor and the first brake element has one or more first brake element fixation holes , wherein a coupling member is arranged to interface with a respective rotor fixation hole and a first brake element fixation hole for mounting the rotor to the first brake element.3) An electric motor of claim 1 or 2, wherein the removable coupling elements comprises one or more coupling members arranged to interface with a respective first brake element fixation hole and abearing fixation hole for mounting the bearing to the first brake element.4) An electric motor according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein a wheel is arranged to be mounted to the bearing, wherein the wheel includes one or more fixation holes and the bearing has one or more fixation holes, wherein a coupling member is arranged to interface with a respective fixation hole for the wheel and a bearing fixation hole and a first brake element fixation hole for mounting the bearing to the first brake element.5) An electric motor according to any one of the preceding claims, further comprising one or more coupling elements for coupling the rotor to the stator to allow the rotor to be mounted to the stator when the first brake element is dismounted from the rotor and bearing.6) An electric motor according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the first surface is formed on an inner radial surface of the first brake element and the second surface is formed on an outer radial surface of the second brake element.7) An electric motor according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the rotor 120 includes a plurality of magnets arranged around the inside of a cylindrical portion of the rotor.8) An electric motor according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the stator includes mounting points for mounting the stator to a vehicle.9) An electric motor comprising a stator, a first brake element and a rotor having a first section removablycoupled to a second section via one or more first removable coupling elements, wherein the second section includes a second brake element, wherein the second section is arranged to be mounted to a bearing via one or more second removable coupling elements to allow the rotor to be rotatably coupled to the stator, the first brake element has a first surface and is mounted to the stator and movable from a first position to a second position, wherein the second brake element has a second surface, wherein when the first brake element is in the second position the first surface is arranged to be in contact with the second surface to inhibit rotational movement of the rotor relative to the stator, wherein the second section of the rotor is arranged to be dismounted from the first section of the rotor via the one or more first coupling elements and dismounted from the bearing via the one or more second removable coupling elements to allow the second section of the rotor to be moved axially away from the first section of the rotor while the first section of the rotor is coupled to the stator.10) An electric motor comprising a rotor, a stator, a first brake element and a second brake element, wherein the first brake element is arranged to be mounted to the rotor and a bearing via one or more removable coupling elements to allow the rotor to be rotatably coupled to the stator, wherein the first brake element has a first surface;
