A waste container

Abstract

A waste container 10 including a main body 20 at least partially defining an enclosure 50 for waste with a plurality of lids 30 rotatable connected to the main body. Each lid is independently slidable relative to the main body between a locked condition where rotation is inhibited and a unlocked condition where rotation is permitted. When in the unlocked condition, the lid may be rotatable, around a hinge pin with elongated slots (60 / 61 Figure 10) connected to the rear of the lid and top of a side wall 201 / 202 / 203 / 204 in the upper portion 210, from a closed condition through an intermediary condition to an open condition. The container may also have sub-enclosures (501 / 502 Figure 6) connected to each of the lids with engagement parts of the lid overlapping or being overlapped by the corresponding engagement parts on top of the side walls and the side wall being hingeably connected to the main container in its locked condition. The opening (41 / 42 Figure 6) in the lid may be gradual with the first area (A1 Figure 6) being smaller than the second area (A2 Figure 6).
