Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD This invention relates to an apparatus for aiding sexual activity. BACKGROUND Sexual activity is an important aspect of human relationships, not only for reproduction but also providing emotional and physical pleasure. However, this can be challenging for people with physical disabilities, due to the weight bearing nature of physical intercourse. Many conventional sexual positions for a couple can become impossible if the "giving" or "penetrating" partner has an injury or disability, for example to their back or limbs. These difficulties can cause negative impacts on mental health and the relationship. Existing devices, such as chairs and bondage (BDSM) tables can be used to help position a sexual partner. These are typically directed to the position and support of a "receiving" partner. However, these devices do no provide support to a "giving" or penetrating partner. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An aspect of the present invention provides an apparatus for aiding sexual activity, the apparatus comprising: a base having first and second ends and a longitudinal axis extending between the first and second ends; a support to support a first user, the support being mounted on the base towards the first end of the base; and a seat to support a second user, the first seat being slidably mounted on the base such that it can slide along the longitudinal axis between the support and a location at or near the second end of the base. In typical use, the first user is a "receiving" partner and the second user is a "giving" partner or penetrating partner. The first user may be in either a prone or supine position on the support, whilst the second user sits on the seat facing the first user. The seat provides weight bearing support to the giving partner, whilst enabling backwards and forwards motion along the longitudinal axis. The base may comprise a rail extending between the first and second ends. The rail may extend along the longitudinal axis. The seat may be slidably mounted on the rail. The seat may be supported in on the rail in any manner which enables a sliding movement along the rail. For example, the seat may be provided with bearings, such as rollers, which engage with the rail. The support may be mounted on the rail. The base may be height adjustable. This adjustment provides comfort and ease of use for the second user. The base may comprise one or more leg members. The leg members may be height adjustable.
