External elevated flooring system

Abstract

The invention relates to an external flooring system for use in an elevated position on a building, such as a roof terrace. The external flooring system comprises: a plurality of flooring panels for providing a floor surface for users to walk on; a subfloor structure configurable to bear against an elevated base structure of the building, the subfloor structure including rails for supporting the flooring panels; and a ballast load transfer arrangement located between adjacent rails of the subfloor structure and configured to retain associated ballast. The ballast load transfer arrangement is linked to one or more of the adjacent rails so that the weight of the ballast load transfer arrangement and the associated ballast urges against lifting of the one or more adjacent rails and flooring panels.
