Abstract

A container for food, the container including: a base; a lid; and a band; the base including a peripheral upper lip, the upper lip including a sealing surface and an angled surface; the lid including a sealing surface and a band receiving surface; the band being discontinuous and including a lid receiving surface and an angled surface, such that radially inward movement of the band causes the lid receiving surface of the band to move radially inwardly along the band receiving surface of the lid, the angled surface of the band to move towards the angled surface of the base, and the sealing surface of the lid to move towards the sealing surface of the upper lip.
