Smoke control damper

Abstract

A smoke control damper (20) comprising a blade (22) and a frame (24), wherein the blade (22) comprises a first element (26), a second element (28) and a third element (30), each extending from a top to a bottom of the blade (22), and from a first side to a second side of the blade (22), the second element (28) comprising at least one sheet of calcium silicate board, the second element (28) being sandwiched between the first and third elements (26, 30) and providing a thermal break between the first and third elements (26, 30). The first element (26) may comprise a metal structure defining a hollow chamber with vents provided at top and bottom edges of the metal structure, wherein a lateral gap is provided between the top and bottom edges of the metal structure and the frame (24).
