A haircare appliance

Abstract

A haircare appliance comprises an inlet (32, fig.2), an outlet 342 and an airflow generator (22, fig.2). A moveable member comprises a free end 328 which is moveable between a first position (figure 17b) and a second position (figure 17c). This movement results in a change of the airflow characteristics at the outlet of the appliance. Preferably the free end 328 of the moveable member moves in response to a change in pressure of the airflow. The free end 328 may move linearly with respect to the housing, parallel to a bulk direction of airflow through the outlet 342. The appliance may comprise a first wall 324 and a second wall 322 with a channel 326 therebetween, and the moveable member may be the first wall. The two walls are preferably concentrically arranged. The moveable member may have an equilibrium position (figure 17a), and be arranged to move between the equilibrium position, the first position and the second position to direct airflow through a first outlet portion (490, fig. 20b) and a second outlet portion (492, fig.20c).
