Flameholder for a reheat assembly of a gas turbine engine

Abstract

A flameholder 370 or a reheat assembly 300 of a gas turbine engine. The flameholder comprising a main structure 510 and a baffle structure 520 within the main structure. The main structure defining a flow direction for flow through the flameholder. The baffle structure suspended at one or more mounting locations 531, 532, 533. The main structure having a portion which is coextensive with the main structure 570 and includes a detached portion 523 which is spaced apart from the mounting locations. The baffle structure detached portion is at least 10 percent of the coextensive portion of the baffle structure and preferably between 10% and 90%. The baffle preferably having an inlet to receive a portion of the flow through the flameholder. Fig 5
