Abstract

A method for identification and analysis of different types of cells in culture media, comprises; providing an electric stimulus signal to at least one stimulus electrode 102a to generate an electrodynamic field applied to a first cell type in a culture medium; sensing a response field by means of a sensing electrode 202a to provide a response signal to a sensing circuit for a first output signal; providing said stimulus signal to at least one stimulus electrode to generate a field applied to a second different cell type in a culture medium; sensing a response field by means of a sensing electrode and providing a response signal to the sensing circuit for a second output signal; comparing the first and second output signals to determine a measure of differentiation between the different cell types; wherein the stimulus signal and field has at least one frequency component greater than 0.15 GHz.
