Tissue-securing apparatuses and their use

Abstract

A button assembly comprising: a. a button characterized by two opposing major surfaces, each major surface having two rounded broad portions displaced from each other in a longitudinal direction and joined by an intervening narrow portion; and b. a ring member wherein, when the button assembly is in an assembled state in which the ring member surrounds a peripheral edge of the button and forms one or more gaps at the narrow section of the button. When in an assembled state, one or more thread ends pass through corresponding gaps, and the thread ends are tied together to form a loop securing the button assembly to a tissue anchor. [Fig. 3a]
