Abstract

Life saving appliance comprises flexible material and graphene, preferably a 100-150 micrometre thick sheet 22 of thermoplastic polyurethane and 1.5 wt.% graphene. The sheet 22 is preferably moisture vapour permeable but fluid impermeable. The sheet is preferably supported by a non-graphene sheet 26A, 26B with higher modulus of elasticity. The appliance preferably comprises a garment, especially submarine escape suit or lifejacket or life raft with inflatable bladder with drop stitch structure. [Figure 4]
