Abstract
Herein is described the invention of an optional air-compressor(s) system, item (1) in Fig. 1, that is a mechanical propulsion device located inside the aerodynamic cowling bow (21) of a ground effect boat(4) in Figure 2, and a catamaran-type boat(29) in Figure 4, that converts the rotational power of the engine(s) (17) in Figure 2, into propulsive air thrust in order to lift and move the ground effect boat(4) in Figure 2, above the water surface. In addition the air compressor(s) system(l) in Fig. 1, is aerodynamically connected to successive removable upper and lower air duct assemblies (11 & 12) in Figure 1, as well as the removable side air duct assemblies (31 & 32) in Figure 2, so that the velocity of the incoming air is increased and optionally distributed in preselected directions, together with the ability to electively adjust the velocity of the compressed air, in one or more of the above mentioned air duct assemblies. The above invention is utilized in multi role ground effect boats (4) in Figure 2, as well as in non-flying catamaran-type boats (29) in Figure 4. The advantages of this invention are that a significant reduction in water friction is achieved and consequently fuel consumption and exhaust gas CO-2 production are reduced, while the boat's(4) and (29) performance is dramatically increased, travelling long distances with less fuel.
