Abstract

The invention relates to a time-of-flight sensor device and a method of use. A device (100) determines a time-of-flight measurement by performing sampling of a sensor, the sampling of the sensor being performed based on light received via at least one first spectral filter (110), where the at least one first spectral filter is associated with a spectral range for the time-of-flight measurement; determining that a condition relating to the time-of-flight measurement is satisfied, wherein the condition relates to an orientation or position of the sensor or sensor device relative to the measurement target; triggering the spectral measurement to be performed based on determining that the condition on the time-of-flight measurement is satisfied; and, on the basis of the light received via the at least one second spectral filter (105) and by performing the sampling by the sensor, performing a spectral measurement for the measurement target (130) on the basis of a condition with respect to the time-of-flight measurement being satisfied.
