[0140] According to some examples, a panel is provided that can be used with one or more other panels to construct a system including the panel and the one or more other panels.

[0141] According to some examples, a system is provided in which a user (such as a child) can easily use a fixing mechanism for constructing a panel for a child's play area. According to some examples, a user, such as a child, only needs to hold two panels together to fix them together. The panels can then be connected and fixed to each other using a self-aligned magnetic system as described below. This provides a simple mechanism for children to construct play structures.

[0142] According to examples, a system including one or more panels can be used as a play area. For example, a play area can be used for children to play. Examples of play areas include, but are not limited to: playhouses; stages; scenes; fortresses; exhibition cases; toy cars; play ships; furniture; floor tiles; floor mats with combination panels; toy driveways; and boxes. Play areas may include self-supporting structures. In some examples, the structure has a size that allows children to enter and leave the structure and play within it. In other words, the structure may be “child-sized,” and in some cases, depending on what is being built using the system, the structure may be “life-size.” In some examples, the height of the structure is between 0.5m and 2.5m.

[0143] In some examples, a system comprising one or more panels may be considered to include modular construction units. A modular construction unit may include at least one module. The at least one module may include: at least one panel and / or at least one attachment. Specification 7 / 17 pages 10 CN 120983925 A

[0144] The system may include panels with different shapes. As shown in 101a of Figure 1A, the panel may have a square shape. As shown in 103a of Figure 1A, the panel may have a trapezoidal shape. As shown at 105a of Figure 1A, the panel may have a triangular shape. In some examples, the panel may include connectors and pins for forming the panel shape.

[0145] According to some examples, the panel may have a shape different from that shown in Figure 1A, for example, a rectangular shape or a rhomboid shape. In some examples, the panel may be any polygonal shape. In some examples, the panel may have one or more curved sides. In some examples, the panel may be circular.

[0146] In some examples, each panel may have a width and length dimension significantly greater than the thickness of the panel. This is shown in Figure 1B, which shows the panels viewed from an angle inconsistent with the plane defined by the length and width of panels 101b, 103b, and 105b. In other words, Figure 1B shows a view of the panels not viewed from the “front”. Thus, in Figure 1B, the thickness of panels 101b, 103b, and 105b is visible, as are the length and width of each panel. As can be seen in Figure 1B, the thickness of panels 101b, 103b, and 105b is less than their length and width.

[0147] According to some examples, each panel of the system may have the same thickness. This is useful for uniformity when panels are stacked on top of each other, and also for providing uniformity when stacks of panels are placed side by side.

[0148] In some examples, the panels are shaped to interlock with each other to form a larger shape comprising multiple panels. The larger shape comprising multiple panels can then be stacked on top of each other for storage. In this example, it may be particularly useful for the panel to have a uniform thickness to provide uniformity between panel layers.

[0149] The panel may be made of a material that is rigid enough to support the panel so that the panel does not collapse when a child builds the structure or enters the interior of the structure. For example, the panel may be made of foam. The foam may be rigid and / or dense. The panel may also be made of lightweight plastic or any other suitable material. In some examples, the panel may be formed by bonding together foams of different stiffnesses to achieve the desired strength. In some examples, the panel may be made of foam and fabric. In other examples, the panel may be formed from injection-molded plastic or foam. In some examples, the panel may be formed by thermoforming. In some examples, the panel may be coated. For example, the panel may have a foam inner layer and a plastic coating. In some examples, the panel may have a fabric overlay. In some examples, the panel may be formed from a foam core reinforced using thermoforming technology.

[0150] In some examples, the panel may be made of fabric with sleeves through which pins travel. The pins may be connected using connectors.

[0151] In the examples, the panel system has an “arbitrary” connection mechanism built on or within each panel. In some examples, the connection mechanism is considered to be inside each panel, or at least partially inside each panel. In some examples, the connection mechanism is considered to be integrated into each panel. In some examples, the connection mechanism is considered to be an automatic connection mechanism. Such automatic connection mechanisms will be discussed further below. The system allows a user (such as a child) to easily connect any two or more panels by touching them together. In some examples, it does not matter how the child attempts to connect the panels; the panels will stick together. This makes it as simple and easy as possible for children to create play spaces. This provides an advantage over other connection methods in other products because the connection method is less confusing and frustrating, which can be particularly useful when the user is a child.

[0152] In some examples, the connection mechanism is incorporated inside the connector for the connection pin. In some examples, the connection mechanism uses a cylindrical magnet magnetized along its diameter.

[0153] In some examples, the connection mechanism is used not only for the panel but also for other modules, such as attachments, such as blanket attachments or foldable panel attachments or other accessories for decoration or adding useful devices. These attachments are discussed further below. Attachments may include, for example, spotlight attachments, decorative accessories or attachments for hanging pictures (e.g., hooks). Magnetic connection mechanisms can also be used so that a panel in one set of panels can be combined with a panel in another set of panels and thus form even larger structures.

[0154] Figure 2 shows an example of the position in which two panels can be positioned once attached to each other by the connection mechanism. As can be seen at 207a, 207b, 207c, and 207d in Figure 2, once connected, the angle between the two panels can be changed to provide the user with different options regarding how the panels can be oriented. The position of the panels can be changed so that the maximum angle between them is anywhere between 0 degrees and 180 degrees.

[0155] As can be seen from Figure 2, the two panels can be joined at their respective edges. These edges then form a hinge around which the panels can rotate.

[0156] Although Figure 2 only shows the case of attaching two rectangular panels, it should be understood that the angle between the two panels can also be changed when the panels have any other shape.

[0157] In some examples, the connecting mechanism includes magnets located in the edges of the panels. Magnets can be used to form the connecting mechanism. In some examples, the magnets include spherical magnets (spherical magnets). In some examples, the magnets include cylindrical magnets magnetized along their diameter.

[0158] Figure 3 shows an example of how a recess is positioned in the panel to accommodate the magnets of the connecting mechanism. Each panel may include a recess shaped to accommodate the outer contour of a magnet. In some examples, each panel includes one or more recesses shaped to accommodate one or more corresponding magnets. The recess (orifice) accommodating the magnet may be shaped such that the recess is slightly larger than the magnet. Thus, the magnet can be held in the recess so that it can be reoriented when an external force is applied to it. In some examples, the external force may include magnetic force.

[0159] In some examples where the magnet is a spherical magnet, the spherical magnet may be held in a partially spherical or hemispherical recess. The recess may have a radius slightly larger than that of the spherical magnet. As an example, the spherical magnet may have a radius of 10 mm andThe recesses can have a radius of 11 mm. Of course, different sizes can be provided in other examples.

[0160] Two recesses 311 and 313 of a trapezoidal panel 309 and two recesses 317 and 319 of a triangular panel are shown in FIG3. Other unlabeled recesses are also shown for each panel.

[0161] Recesses 311 and 313 can be separated by a distance 315 along the edge of panel 309. In some examples, the distance between successive recesses along each edge of panel 309 is the same as the distance 315, such that the recesses are evenly spaced along the edge where they are located.

[0162] Recesses 317 and 319 can be separated by a distance 321 along the edge of panel 313. In some examples, the distance between successive recesses along each edge is the same as the distance 321, such that the recesses are evenly spaced along the edge where they are located.

[0163] In examples where panels 309 and 313 are in the same system, the distance 315 can be the same as the distance 321. In such an example, the magnets are positioned in the recesses, with a uniform spacing between each magnet along the edge of the panel (e.g., for illustrative purposes only, each magnet may be positioned 0.30m apart, and there may be several magnets along one edge of the panel). This allows the magnets of each panel to overlap when the two panels are placed side by side.

[0164] In the example, for panels of the same shape and part of the same system, the recesses may be positioned in the same location on each panel.

[0165] Figure 4 illustrates an example of how a magnet 433 is secured in a recess 427 by a securing device 431 in panel 423. The securing device 431 may include a housing or cover placed over the recess 427 such that the magnet 433 remains in the recess 427. For example, the securing device 431 may be glued over the recess 427. Alternatively, the securing device 431 may be press-fitted or friction-fitted onto panel 423. In other examples, recess 427 may be sewn with fabric, such that fastener 431 comprises fabric. In some examples, recess 427 may be glued with tape, such that fastener 431 comprises tape. In some example specifications, page 9 / 17, 12 CN 120983925 A, magnet 433 may have a special housing formed to accommodate the magnet and then glued in place, such that the magnet is encapsulated in the fastener and subsequently glued in place in the panel. These and other housings, which may include a security clip, will be discussed further below.

[0166] In some examples, each magnet of panel 423 (e.g., magnet 433) may comprise a cylindrical magnet magnetized along its diameter, and each recess 427 (e.g., recesses 427, 429) may be shaped to accommodate a cylindrical magnet magnetized along its diameter.Any other suitable shape of magnet can be used. In some examples, the recesses are located at the corners of panel 423. Each corner of panel 423 may include two recesses for receiving magnets, such that the magnets are positioned on each edge of each corner. Panel systems, such as panel 423, can be provided, having any shape discussed herein. Panels can be made of PET, foam, or any other suitable material.

[0167] The magnets 433 and others of FIG. 4 can be of any suitable shape. In some examples, as shown in FIG. 4, the magnets 433 and others of FIG. 4 can be spherical magnets. In some examples, the magnets 433 and others of FIG. 4 can be cylindrical magnets magnetized along their diameter. As shown in FIG. 4, one or more magnets can be positioned along the edge of each panel. In other examples, one or more magnets can be positioned in the corner of each panel discussed in the previous paragraph. In another example, a panel may include one or more magnets positioned along the edge of the panel and also include one or more magnets positioned along the corner of each panel.

[0168] In some examples, each magnet of panel 423 may be positioned such that they are rotatable. Note that in some embodiments, one or more magnets (possibly all magnets of panel 423) may be positioned such that they are not rotatable.

[0169] In contrast to the panel of FIG. 18 which includes a frame, the panel of FIG. 4 is considered "frameless," i.e., without a frame.

[0170] Recesses 427 and 429 may be separated by a distance 435. A fastening device similar to fastening device 431 may be used to hold the magnet in the recess 429. In some examples, each recess of panel 423 has a magnet held within the recess using a fastening device similar to fastening device 431.

[0171] Fastening device 431 may be similar to the safety clip described below with respect to FIG. 10 and FIG. 11.

[0172] Panel 423 also shows a magnet 433 held in fastening device 425.

[0173] Recesses 427 and 429 may be separated by a distance 435 along the edge of panel 423. In some examples, the distance between successive recesses along each edge of panel 423 is the same as distance 435, such that the recesses are evenly spaced along the edges they are on.

[0174] In examples where panels 309, 313, and 423 are in the same system, distances 315, 321, and 435 may all be the same.

[0175] Although a retaining device is shown in FIG. 4, it should be noted that in some examples, a retaining device is not required to hold the magnet in the recess of the panel, because the size of the recess may be only slightly larger than the magnet, such that the magnet is held in the recess without a retaining device. For example, the magnet may be loosely press-fitted into the recess of the panel, such that the magnet is securely held. The magnet is held in place to prevent it from falling off the panel, but loose enough to allow it to rotate within the recess in the panel.

[0176] In some examples, the magnet of panel 423 may not be housed in the recess shown in FIG. 4, but may instead be held close to the edge of the panel using a device such as retaining device 425. In such examples, the panel may have a shape similar to either of the shapes shown in FIG. 1A and FIG. 1B. Similarly, in this example without a recess, the magnet may be positioned at the corner of the panel and / or along the edge of each panel (away from the corner).

[0177] In some examples, a clip similar to the safety clip 1170 shown in FIG. 11 may be attached to the panel. In this example specification, pages 10 / 17, 13 CN 120983925 A, the recess may not be necessary.

[0178] In some examples, a connector such as connector 1310 may be used, which is attached to the corner of a panel such as panel 101a, 103a, 105a, etc. These connectors can accommodate one or two magnets. Recesses in the panel may not be necessary when using such connectors.

[0179] Figure 5 illustrates an example of a connection mechanism that can be used to join modules, such as panels or panel attachments, together. An exemplary method involves orifices (recesses) in which spherical magnets are positioned within each panel material. Each spherical magnet has a north pole and a south pole and is capable of being reoriented (rotated) when magnetically attracted by another spherical magnet, such that the north pole of one spherical magnet aligns with the south pole of the other. The spherical magnets then attract each other and can hold the panels together.

[0180] In some examples, to ensure that a spherical magnet can be reoriented to align with another spherical magnet, the spherical magnet is positioned in an orifice (recess) in the panel that is just larger than the spherical magnet itself. In some examples, the recess is also shaped to conform to the outer contour of the spherical magnet. This allows the spherical magnet to rotate to align with another spherical magnet upon reorientation. In the example, the recess may be hemispherical or partially spherical, and the radius of the recess is only slightly larger than the radius of the spherical magnet.

[0181] Figure 5 illustrates how the connecting mechanism works when the two panels 539 and 537 are pushed towards each other. Figure 5 shows an enlarged view of the portion 535 where the two panels meet. When the user pushing the two panels 537 and 539 together presses the two magnets 533a and 533b toward each other, the magnets 533a and 533b are able to be reoriented due to the space provided in each recess that accommodates the magnets. Thus, the north and south poles of the magnets 533a and 533b are aligned with each other and the magnets are magnetically attracted to each other. Therefore, the connecting mechanism can be considered automatic because the user does not have to directly contact the connecting mechanism to fasten the two panels together.

[0182] As an example, if the north pole of magnet 533a is pushed toward the north pole of magnet 533b, magnet 533b can rotate such that the south pole of magnet 533b is closer to magnet 533a than the north pole. Magnets 533a and 533b then attract each other, and panels 537 and 539 connect to each other.

[0183] It should be noted that although only one magnet is shown for each panel 539 and 537, more than one magnet can be positioned along the edges of panels 537 and 539 such that there is more than one portion for magnetic connection when the two panels 537 and 539 are pushed toward each other.

[0184] Another feature of the panel connection system is that the panels connect automatically and the panels emit a satisfying “click” sound (i.e., a clicking sound). This is caused by the magnets attracting each other. This “click” sound can be easily combined with the panel and the click signal to inform a child that the panels have been successfully connected. This helps to enhance the user’s confidence to continue building. For example, this feature can be provided when using spherical magnets or cylindrical magnets magnetized along their diameter.

[0185] In some examples, the system can also optionally be directly attached to an external object made of metal via a magnetic panel to reinforce a structure (e.g., a metal component of a concealed space in a kitchen). This connection can be made via the magnet of the magnetic panel or the magnet of the attachment. Magnetic clips and lamps can also be attached to the main magnetic panel.

[0186] In some examples, the system can also include an attachment that is a foldable panel. A foldable panel can be considered a “blanket panel.” A blanket panel includes a panel that can be folded along pre-created fold lines and thus conforms to a variety of shapes. A blanket panel can be folded in a manner similar to origami. A blanket panel also has magnets, like other panels, for attaching to other panels and external objects. This can be used to create roofs or walls or anything else that needs to be added to a structure.

[0187] Figure 6 shows an example of a foldable panel 637. The foldable panel 637 includes two magnets 633a and 633b separated by a distance 635. In some examples, magnets 633a and 633b are spherical. In systems that include both the foldable panel 637 and panels 313 and 309 of Figure 3 (pages 11 / 17 of specification CN 120983925 A), the distances 321, 315, and 635 may be the same.

[0188] As shown in Figure 6, the foldable panel 637 may include magnets other than magnets 633a and 633b. These magnets may be positioned along the edges of the foldable panel 637. In some examples, the spacing between successive magnets along the edge of the panel may be equal to the distance 635.

[0189] In the example of Figure 6, the line shown inside the edge of panel 637 illustrates an example diagram of a pre-created folding line. The lines are marked with reference numerals 639 and 641. The user can fold and unfold panel 637 to form the desired shape of the structure.

[0190] Figure 7 shows a structure including three panels 743, 745, and 747 and a foldable panel 741. Panels 743, 745, and 747 can be connected using the magnetic connection method discussed above or using the cylindrical magnet connection method described below. The top edges of panels 743, 745, and 747 are then also connected to the foldable panel 741 using a magnetic connection method. Magnetic connection point 733c between panel 747 and the foldable panel 741 is also marked for illustration. Magnetic connection point 749 is also shown between panels 745 and 743. Obviously, as shown in Figure 7, other magnetic connection points can also be provided.

[0191] In some examples, the system unit also has a blanket attachment that is attached to a magnet at any location on the panel to reinforce the constructed structure and can serve as anything from a doorway to an awning or additional roof section. At least one module of the system may include a blanket attachment. In some examples, the blanket attachment is magnetic and can be magnetically attached to one or more magnets on the panel. In some examples, the blanket is made of a material that is more flexible than the panel. The blanket may be made of a lighter foam so that it can easily form a roof or door to the structure. The blanket may also be used as a tunnel between fortified structures or as a mat. The blanket may be used to provide a roof and / or door for a children's play area.

[0192] Figure 8 shows an example of a blanket attachment 864 attached to an exemplary structure including panels 850, 852, and 854. In this example, the blanket attachment is connected to panel 852 at connection points 856 and 858. The blanket attachment is also connected to panel 850 at connection points 860 and 862. It should be understood that while only two connection points are shown for each panel in panels 850 and 852, in some examples, a different number of connection points 862 or 860 may be present on the panel. Furthermore, it should be understood that although the connection point between blanket attachment 864 and panel 854 is not shown in the example of FIG. 8, in some examples, blanket attachment 864 may also be attached to panel 854 at one or more connection points.

[0193] In some examples such as the example of FIG. 8, the central portion of blanket attachment 864 is lower at the center than at the edges of the blanket attachment. This may be due to the flexible material of the blanket attachment. If the distance between panels 850 and 852 is to be increased, the central portion of blanket 864 will be raised. Conversely, if the distance between panels 850 and 852 is to be decreased, the central portion of blanket 864 will be lowered.

[0194] In some examples, connection points 856, 858, 860, and 862 may include connections using a connection mechanism formed by a spherical magnet housed within panels 852 and 850. In some examples, connection points 856, 858, 860, and 862 may include connections using a connection mechanism formed by a cylindrical magnet housed within panels 852 and 850 and magnetized along its diameter. In some examples, connection points 856, 858, 860, and 862 may include connections using a magnet housed within a blanket attachment 864. In some examples, the magnet housed within the blanket attachment 864 may be spherical. In some examples, the magnet housed within the blanket attachment 864 may be cylindrical, and in some examples, the magnet housed within the blanket attachment may be magnetized along its diameter. In some examples, the magnet housed within the blanket attachment may be attached to a magnet housed within the panel. Magnets housed within the blanket attachment may have similar spacing between each other along the edges of the blanket attachment. Magnets housed within the blanket attachment may have similar spacing to magnets housed within the panel. Specification 12 / 17 pages 15 CN 120983925 A

[0195] In some examples, the blanket attachment 864 may be made of a magnetic material such that the blanket attachment can be magnetically attached to magnets housed within panels of the system (such as panels 850, 852 and / or panel 854).

[0196] FIG9 shows an example of a structure that can be formed by a user using the system. Module 955 includes a rectangular panel. Module 953 includes a hexagonal panel. Module 951 includes a triangular panel. Module 957 includes a rectangular panel with a hole. Although the hole is shown only in the rectangular panel, it should be understood that a panel of any shape may have a hole. The hole can be used to provide a window for a children's play area.

[0197] According to some examples, children can use the connection method of the system to assemble the structure of FIG. 9. The system can use spherical magnets and / or cylindrical magnets magnetized along the diameter, as further described below. Since the magnets can be reoriented when pushed together, users such as children can easily assemble the structure by simply pushing the panels together from either direction. The user can then use the structure to form a children's play area.

[0198] According to some examples, each panel of the system can have the same thickness. In some examples, panels of different shapes can be interlocked to form a larger shape when placed together on the same plane. Planar layers of one or more panels can then be stacked on top of each other for storage purposes. The panels can then be secured to each other in each plane using at least one magnet of each panel. At least one magnet can also be used to secure panels from different planes to each other.

[0199] According to some examples, the system includes at least one board that can be connected to a module of the system. For example, at least one board can be connected to at least one panel of the system. The at least one board can be used by a user to display pictures, for example, to decorate a play area formed by the system.

[0200] In some examples, the board can include magnets, such as magnetic strips. Using the magnets of the board, the board can be connected to the panel of the system. The magnets of the board can be connected to one or more magnets of the panel of the system. The magnets of the panel of the system can include spherical magnets of the automatic connection mechanism discussed above, which can also be used to connect to the magnetic strips of the board. The magnets of the panel of the system can include cylindrical magnets magnetized along the diameter of the automatic connection mechanism discussed below, which can also be used to connect to the magnetic strips of the board. In some examples, the panel of the system can include magnetic strips disposed on the surface of the panel, which can be used to magnetically attach the board to the panel using the magnetic strips of the board.

[0201] According to some examples, the attachable board of the system can include a background, for example, a scene used in a play. In other examples, the attachable board can include a user's drawing, or include a canvas on which the user can draw. Attachable panels can be used to create “themes” for play areas.

[0202] In some examples, the system can also be used to provide storage for items such as children’s toys. The modular system can rearrange a life-size play area into a toy box, such as: a playhouse; a stage; a scene; a fortress; an exhibition case; a toy car; a game ship; and / or a box. The toy box can then be used to store items such as toys.

[0203] Figure 10 shows a safety clip 1070 that can be used in some examples to accommodate a spherical magnet 1068. The safety clip 1070 can be used with any of the aforementioned panels.

[0204] The safety clip 1070 includes two fold lines 1064a and 1064b. When the fold lines 1064a and 1064b are folded, a pin 1060a is received in a receiving portion 1062a and a pin 1060b is received in a receiving portion 1062b. The spherical magnet 1068 can then be stored within a safety clip that provides a pocket around the spherical magnet 1068.

[0205] In some examples, the nails 1060a and 1060b engage with any of the aforementioned panels to be received in corresponding receiving portions 1062a and 1062b. When the safety clip 1070 is folded near the edge of the panel, each nail can form a hole in the panel. In some examples, the nails 1060a and 1060b can “pierce” the panel material to be received by the receiving portions 1062a and 1062b. In some examples, holes can be formed for the nails 1060a and 1060b before the safety clip 1070 is folded to allow the nails to pass through. Specification 13 / 17 pages 16 CN 120983925 A

[0206] Furthermore, the safety clip 1070 includes a housing for accommodating the spherical magnet 1068. The housing is formed when the ridges 1066a and 1066b contact after the clip edges 1064a and 1064b are folded. When the spherical magnet 1068 is contained within the housing formed by the ridges 1066a and 1066b, it remains capable of movement and orientation in the presence of a magnetic field. Therefore, the safety clip mechanism can be positioned on a recess in the panel of the system, allowing the spherical magnet to be stored in the housing without affecting the operation of the system's magnetic connection mechanism.

[0207] By accommodating the magnet in the safety clip mechanism 1070, if a user, such as a child, removes the safety clip, such as the safety clip mechanism 1070, from the panel, the safety clip mechanism 1070 remains closed, preventing the child from removing the magnet from the safety clip mechanism 1070. This prevents the child from directly accessing the magnet 1068 and prevents the child from damaging the magnet 1068 or injuring themselves, for example, by swallowing the magnet 1068.

[0208] When the safety clip with the housing is applied to the magnet of the system, the faces 1072 and 1076 of the safety clip 1070 can contact the top and bottom surfaces of the panel. The face 1074 of the safety clip can contact the edge of the panel. The face 1074 can be curved when in contact with the edge of the panel of the system.

[0209] FIG11 shows an example of a safety clip 1170 engaged with the panel 1176 and the spherical magnet 1178. The spherical magnet 1178 is accommodated in the safety clip 1170.

[0210] The safety clip 1170 may be similar to the safety clip 1070 described above. The panel 1176 may be similar to any of the panels described above.

[0211] The spherical magnet 1178 is accommodated within the safety clip 1170, which has sufficient space to be reoriented when affected by an external force (such as magnetic force). The spherical magnet 1178 is also accommodated in a recess at the edge of the panel 1176.

[0212] In some examples, more than one safety clip may be provided for attachment to the panel.

[0213] At points 1180a and 1180b, the spikes of the safety clip 1170 pierce the material of the panel 1176 and are received by a recess within the panel.

[0214] Even if the user manages to remove the safety clip 1170 from the panel 1176, the safety clip 1170 is closed, preventing the user from touching the spherical magnet 1178. This prevents the user from injuring themselves by using the spherical magnet 1178 (e.g., by swallowing the spherical magnet 1178).

[0215] The edges of the safety clip 1178 may be bent to conform to the curved edges of the panel 1176. It should be appreciated that in some examples, the edges of the safety clip 1170 may have alternative shapes to conform to the shape of different panels.

[0216] In some examples, the panel may include a magnet magnetized along its diameter. In some examples, the magnet magnetized along its diameter may include a cylindrical magnet 1200 as shown in FIG12A.

[0217] Cylindrical magnet 1200 can be magnetized along its diameter such that one half of the curved surface of magnet 1200 is magnetized as the north pole and the other half of the curved surface of magnet 1200 is magnetized as the south pole. The magnetic poles of magnet 1200 can change from north pole 1204 to south pole 1202 along the diameter of magnet 1200.

[0218] When two cylindrical magnets (such as magnet 1200) magnetized along their diameter are pressed against each other, they will be reoriented to align the north pole of one magnet with the south pole of the other magnet. Each cylindrical magnet can be reoriented by rotating about an axis passing through the two flat surfaces of the magnet. For example, magnet 1200 can be reoriented by rotating about an axis passing through the two flat surfaces of magnet 1200.

[0219] Figure 12B shows an example of how two cylindrical magnets 1200A and 1200B magnetized along their diameter can attract each other when the south pole of one magnet is aligned with the north pole of the other magnet.

[0220] FIG13 shows an example of a cylindrical magnet, such as magnet 1200, that can be incorporated into connector 1310. FIG13 shows an exploded view of FIG14.

[0221] Connector 1310 may include two housing portions, each housing portion for receiving one of cylindrical magnet 1300a and specification page 14 / 17 17 CN 120983925 A 1300b. The housing portions may be positioned at different ends of connector 1310. In some examples, each housing portion may include a recess in which a magnet, such as cylindrical magnet 1300a or 1300b, can be received. In some examples, each housing portion may include a compartment in which a magnet, such as cylindrical magnet 1300a or 1300b, can be received. Connector 1310 may be used to connect two pins 1308a and 1308b together. Connector 1310 shown in FIG13 may connect two pins such that the pins are positioned at right angles to each other. It should be appreciated that similar connectors can be provided that can join two pins together at other angles (such as angles sharper than 90 degrees, angles blunter than 90 degrees, or angles of 180 degrees). Such connectors are shown in Figures 16 and 17. In some examples, the pins may include protruding nails, fasteners, rods, and / or studs.

[0222] A magnet 1300a, which may be a cylindrical magnet magnetized along its diameter, similar to magnet 1200, can be held in the first housing portion of connector 1310. Magnet 1300a can be held in place by clip 1306a. Clip 1306a can clamp magnet 1300a into the first housing portion of connector 1310. Clip 1306a can securely hold magnet 1300a in the first housing portion of connector 1310. In some examples, clips may not be provided, and pin 1308a can hold magnet 1300a.In connector 1310, pin 1308b can retain magnet 1300b within connector 1310.

[0223] On the face opposite the clamping mechanism of clip 1306a, an aperture for receiving pin 1308a may be provided. Pin 1308a can be held in place in the aperture in a variety of ways. For example, pin 1308a may be, for example, press-fitted, glued, or welded.

[0224] In some examples, the first housing portion of connector 1310 may be only slightly larger than magnet 1300a. In some examples, at least a portion of the first housing portion may be cylindrical. The cylindrical portion of the first housing portion may have a larger diameter than magnet 1300a. This allows magnet 1300a to be reoriented within the first housing portion under the influence of an external magnetic field. In some examples, the external magnetic field may be provided by a magnet in another connector on a different panel.

[0225] A magnet 1300b, which may be a cylindrical magnet magnetized along its diameter, similar to magnet 1200, can be held in the second housing portion of connector 1310. Magnet 1300b can be held in place by clip 1306b. Clip 1306b can clamp magnet 1300b into the second housing portion of connector 1310. Clip 1306b can securely hold magnet 1300b in the second housing portion of connector 1310.

[0226] On the surface opposite the clamping mechanism of clip 1306b, an aperture for receiving pin 1308b can be provided. Pin 1308b can be held in place in the aperture in a variety of ways, such as press-fit, glue, or weld.

[0227] In some examples, the second housing portion of connector 1310 may be only slightly larger than magnet 1300b. In some examples, at least a portion of the second housing portion may be cylindrical. The cylindrical portion of the second housing section can have a diameter larger than that of magnet 1300b. This allows magnet 1300b to be reoriented within the second housing section under the influence of an external magnetic field. In some examples, the external magnetic field can be provided by a magnet in another connector of a different panel.

[0228] Figure 14 shows a connector 1410 connecting two pins 1408a and 1408b. Pins 1408a and 1408b are connected to clips 1406a and 1406b, respectively. Similar to the system shown in Figure 13, the cylindrical magnet is held inside the connector 1410. Therefore, if the edge of connector 1410 is pushed against the edge of another similar connector, the cylindrical magnet held in connector 1410 and the similar connector will be reoriented such that their magnetic fields align and the connectors attract each other. When these connectors are used to form panels, the cylindrical magnet can therefore be used to attract the panels together to provide an automatic connection mechanism. This allows users such as children to easily connect any two or more panels by bringing them together. The way the panels are connected is irrelevant; the panels will stick together.

[0229] Figure 15 shows a cross-section through connector 1510. Connector 1510 may be similar to connector 1310 or 1410.

[0230] Pin 1508a is held in an opening (e.g., cavity or recess) in clip 1506a. Pin 1508b is held in an opening in clip 1506b. A first housing portion within connector 1510 holds a cylindrical magnet 1500a magnetized along its diameter. A second housing portion within connector 1510 holds a cylindrical magnet 1500b magnetized along its diameter.

[0231] Magnet 1500a is held in the first housing portion by clip 1506a. Magnet 1500b is held in the second housing portion by clip 1506b. The first housing portion provides sufficient space for magnet 1500a to be reoriented in the presence of an external magnetic field. The second housing portion provides sufficient space for magnet 1500b to be reoriented in the presence of an external magnetic field. If connector 1510 is pushed toward a second connector that also accommodates a cylindrical magnet magnetized along its diameter in a similar manner, the magnets will be reoriented such that they attract each other when the cylindrical magnet magnetized along its diameter is pushed toward magnet 1506a or magnet 1506b. This can be used to join panels together.

[0232] Figure 16 shows four different shapes of connectors that can be used to hold cylindrical magnets magnetized along their diameter. Each connector can use two clips to hold two cylindrical magnets in a housing portion (e.g., an internal recess) in a manner similar to the systems shown in Figures 13, 14, and 15. These connectors can also be used to join pins together to form a panel.

[0233] Connector 1620 includes a right-angle connector. This can be used to create right-angled panel corners. For example, four right-angle connectors can be used with pins to create square or rectangular panels.

[0234] Connector 1622 includes acute-angle connectors. This can be used to create panel corners with angles less than 90 degrees. For example, three acute-angle connectors can be used with pins to create triangular panels.

[0235] Connector 1624 includes obtuse-angle connectors. This can be used to create panel corners with angles greater than 90 degrees. For example, six obtuse-angle connectors can be used to create hexagonal panels. In other examples, two obtuse-angle connectors, one straight connector, and two acute-angle connectors can be used with pins to form trapezoidal or semi-hexagonal panels.

[0236] Connector 1626 includes a straight connector. This can be used to create connecting pins at 180-degree angles in a panel. For example, a straight connector can be used to extend the length of one edge of a panel.

[0237] Figure 17 shows additional connectors 1728, 1730, 1732, and 1734. Connectors 1728, 1730, and 1732 are used in connection...Additional triangular members are provided between the various housing portions of the device. In some examples, these triangular members can be used to provide additional support to cope with tension in certain panel shapes.

[0238] Figure 18 shows a square panel 1840 made using four right-angle connectors (similar to connectors 1310, 1410, 1510, 1620, 1728). One of the right-angle connectors is shown at 1810. It should be appreciated that different connectors shown in Figures 16 and 17 can be used to create shapes other than square panels. For example, the connectors can be combined with pins to create triangular panels; square panels; rectangular panels and / or trapezoidal panels.

[0239] Each connector of panel 1840 (e.g., connector 1810) includes two housing portions. Each housing portion accommodates a cylindrical magnet magnetized along its diameter, having sufficient space for reorientation within the housing portion. Each housing portion can be shaped to accommodate the outer contour of a cylindrical magnet magnetized along its diameter.

[0240] Each connector has a clip (similar to clips 1306a, 1306b, 1406a, 1406b, 1506a, 1506b) for clamping a magnet into each housing portion. The clips also include orifices on opposite sides of the housing portion for receiving pins (such as pin 1808). Pin 1808 is received in clips clamped in connector 1810 and in clips clamped in connector 1842. Pin 1808 also travels through sleeve 1808. Sleeve 1808 is connected to center panel material 1836.

[0241] Each of the four pins 1840 travels through a sleeve connected to center panel material 1836.

[0242] In some examples, center panel material 1836 may be made of any suitable material, such as foam, polyester, and / or polyethylene terephthalate (PET). In some examples, pin 1808 can be made of any suitable material, such as wood or metal. In some examples, pin 1808 can be made of bamboo.

[0243] Figure 19 shows an example in which two square panels of connectors have been connected to each other, these connectors accommodating cylindrical magnets magnetized along their diameter. Each of connectors 1950, 1952, 1956 and 1954 accommodates two cylindrical magnets magnetized along their diameter, which can be clamped as described above. The magnets in each connector closest to the other panel are reoriented to align the radial magnetic axis of the magnet with the nearest magnet in the other panel. Thus, one magnet in connector 1950 attracts one magnet in connector 1952. One magnet 1954 attracts magnet 1956. The user can use this magnetic attraction to describe the structure as described above.

[0244] It should be understood that one or more panels of different shapes can be connected in a manner similar to that shown in FIG. 19 to form a structure.

[0245] The magnetic mat described above with reference to FIG. 6, 7 and 8 can also be combined with a system of cylindrical magnets magnetized along the diameter to form a structure.

[0246] A panel including spherical magnets can be attached to a panel including cylindrical magnets magnetized along the diameter.

[0247] Of course, it should be understood that the described examples are merely illustrative and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention. It should also be understood that any of the above examples can be combined.

[0248] The drawings are schematic in nature and are not necessarily drawn to scale. It will be further understood that aspects of the described examples can be combined in any way.
