Abstract
Description
A capability reduction device can be configured to determine the presence or absence of an indication that indicates whether at least one first frequency indication applies to the capability reduction device; and to determine whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication using at least the presence or absence of said indication.
Claims
CLAIMS1. A reduced capability device, the device comprising: means for determining presence or absence of an indication indicating, whether or not at least one first frequency indication is applicable to the reduced capability device; and means for determining, using at least the presence or absence of said indication, whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication.
2. The reduced capability device of claim 1, wherein the means for determining whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication are configured to, in the presence of the indication, determine to apply all frequencies indicated by the at least one first frequency indication.
3. The reduced capability device of claim 1, wherein the means for determining whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication are configured to, in the presence of the indication, determine, based at least on the indication, which ones of the at least one first frequency indication are applicable to the reduced capability device and to apply frequencies indicated by applicable first frequency indications.
4. The reduced capability device of any preceding claims, further comprising means for receiving at least one second frequency indication in broadcast or in dedicated signaling, wherein the means for determining whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication are configured to determine to apply frequencies indicated by the at least one second frequency indication.
5. The reduced capability device of claim 4, wherein the means for determining presence or absence of the indication are configured to, when the at least second frequency indication is received, determine that the indication is absent; and the means for determining whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication are configured to skip frequencies indicated by the at least one first frequency indication.
6. The reduced capability device of claim 4, wherein the means for receiving the at least one second frequency indication are configured to receive the at least one second frequency indication, when the presence or absence of an indication indicates that no first frequency indication is applicable to the reduced capability device.

The reduced capability device of claim 1. 4 or 6, further comprising means for determining that an absence of said indication means that the at least one first frequency indication is applicable to the reduced capability device; wherein the means for determining whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication are configured to determine to apply frequencies indicated by the at least one first frequency indication.
8. The reduced capability device of claim 4, 5, 6 or 7, wherein the means for receiving the at least one second frequency indication are configured to receive a second frequency indication per a frequency.
9. The reduced capability device of any preceding claim, further comprising means for receiving the at least one indication in broadcast or in dedicated signaling.
10. The reduced capability device of any preceding claim, further comprising means for applying one or more frequencies, which are indicated and applicable, for at least one of cell selection, cell re-selection, cell search, radio resource management measurements, or maximum transmission power selection.
11. The reduced capability device of any preceding claim, further comprising means for skipping one or more frequencies, which are not indicated and not applicable, for at least one of cell selection, cell re-selection, cell search, radio resource management measurements, or maximum transmission power selection.
12. A network device comprising: means for transmitting information indicating to reduced capability devices, whether or not at least one first frequency indication is applicable to the reduced capability devices.
13. The network device of claim 12, further comprising: means for transmitting to reduced capability devices at least one second frequency indication.
14. The network device of claim 132, wherein the means for transmitting the at least one second frequency indication are configured to transmit to the reduced capability devices the at least one second frequency indication when no first frequency indication is applicable to the reduced capability devices.
15. A method comprising: determining presence or absence of an indication indicating, whether or not at least one first frequency indication is applicable to the reduced capability device; and determining, using at least the presence or absence of said indication, whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication.
16. A computer readable medium comprising instructions stored thereon for performing at least the following: determining presence or absence of an indication indicating, whether or not at least one first frequency indication is applicable to the reduced capability device; and determining, using at least the presence or absence of said indication, whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication.
17. The computer readable medium of claim 16, wherein the computer readable medium is a non-transitory computer readable medium.
18. A computer program comprising instructions which, when executed by an apparatus, cause the apparatus to perform at least the following: determining presence or absence of an indication indicating, whether or not at least one first frequency indication is applicable to the reduced capability device; and determining, using at least the presence or absence of said indication, whether to apply the at least one first frequency indication.
