Abstract
Description
Abstract A blade device 10 for removing jellyfish stings includes a body 12 and a blade portion 14 for scraping the surface of human skin. The blade portion is detachable from the body. The blade portion is mounted in a blade holder, which can be selectively attached to or detached from the body. The blade holder can be connected to the body via a snap-fit structure including a first mounting feature on the blade holder and a second mounting feature on the body. The blade 16 can be mounted in the blade holder by friction engagement. The body may include a first end and a second end. The first end may include an end cap 20, which can be selectively attached to the body. The second end may include a first groove on one side of the body and a second groove 18 on the other side of the body, wherein the first groove is used to receive a portion of the blade holder and the second groove is used to receive a portion of the blade. The blade may be at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the body, and the blade holder may include a visual code or identification mark that can be interacted with via a smartphone.
Claims
1. A bladed article for removing jellyfish stings, the bladed article comprising: a body; and a bladed portion for scraping across the surface of a person’s skin, wherein the bladed portion is detachable from the body and is mounted into a blade carrier that is selectively attachable to and removable from the body.
2. A bladed article according to claim 1, wherein the blade carrier a first mounting feature and the body comprises a second mounting feature such that the blade carrier is attached to the body by way of a snap fit arrangement.
3. A bladed article according to claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the blade is mounted in the blade carrier by way of a friction fit interface.
4. A bladed article according to claim 3, wherein the body comprises a first end and a second end, wherein the first end comprises an end cap that is selectively attachable to and removable from the body, and the second end comprises the second mounting feature, wherein the second end further comprises a first recess on one side of the body for receiving a portion of the blade carrier and a second recess on the other side of the body for receiving a portion of a blade.
5. A bladed article according to claim 4, wherein the blade is angled away from the longitudinal axis of the body.
6. A bladed article according to claim 5, wherein the blade carrier further comprises a visual code or identifier that can be interacted with by way of a smart phone.
