[0011] Summary of the Invention

[0012] Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0013] None of the aforementioned patent documents disclose a gel-type benzoyl peroxide-containing formulation for the treatment of acne, namely, a formulation that is applied to the affected area for a given time (e.g., 1 minute to 30 minutes) and then removed (e.g., rinsed off). Since dryness of the skin at the application site has been reported as a side effect of benzoyl peroxide-containing formulations, formulations that are removed after contact with the affected area are preferred in terms of reducing such side effects. Furthermore, since benzoyl peroxide is insoluble in water, it exists in suspension in the formulation. Because gel-type formulations have moderate viscosity, they are suitable for uniformly dispersing benzoyl peroxide in the formulation. In order to commercialize such gel-type formulations, it is crucial to suppress viscosity changes during storage, thereby preventing changes in appearance and providing a formulation with stable quality. Instruction manual 1 / 19 pages 4 CN 122421942 A

[0013] Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a skin composition (especially a gel) containing benzoyl peroxide that is not prone to viscosity changes over time and is easy to remove from the skin.

[0065] Effects of the Invention

[0066] The present invention can provide a skin composition (especially a gel) containing benzoyl peroxide, which has little change in viscosity over time and is easy to remove from the skin. Detailed Description

[0067] A gel generally refers to a gel-like topical agent applied to the skin, and is a formulation with a suitable viscosity in which an active ingredient is dissolved or uniformly dispersed in an aqueous or oily base. The skin composition of the present invention mainly relates to a suspension gel in which benzoyl peroxide is uniformly dispersed in an aqueous base.

[0068] The above composition contains benzoyl peroxide (A) as an active ingredient. Benzoyl peroxide can be prepared by adding hydrogen peroxide water to a sodium hydroxide solution to obtain a sodium peroxide solution, and then adding benzoyl chloride thereto. Alternatively, it can be purchased from the market. Benzoyl peroxide can be in a state of being coated with a metal oxide layer or the like, but more preferably uncoated benzoyl peroxide. The content of benzoyl peroxide is preferably 1.0 to 20% by weight, more preferably 1.5 to 15% by weight, particularly preferably 2.0 to 12% by weight, and even more preferably 2.5 to 11% by weight or 5.0 to 10% by weight.The above composition is removed from the skin after a given time after application, so even if it contains a high concentration of benzoyl peroxide, it is unlikely to cause side effects caused by benzoyl peroxide.

[0069] It should be noted that in this specification, the terms weight %, content rate, or concentration refer to the weight ratio of each component when the total weight of the above composition is set to 100%.

[0070] The above composition preferably contains only benzoyl peroxide as an active ingredient (an ingredient used for the prevention and treatment of acne). For example, as an acne treatment agent, there are known combinations containing retinoids such as adapalene and benzoyl peroxide as active ingredients; however, the composition of the present invention preferably does not contain retinoid compounds such as adapalene (or naphthoic acid compounds).

[0071] As a thickener for maintaining benzoyl peroxide in a dispersed state, carboxyvinyl polymers and acrylamide / sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate copolymers were used as candidates. Research results confirmed that, considering the amount of keratin exfoliation, acrylamide / sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate copolymer is preferred as the thickener of the present invention in cases of particularly short-term contact. Therefore, the composition of the present invention comprises acrylamide / sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate copolymer (Acrylamide / Sodium Acryloyldimethyltaurate Copolymer; (C3H5NO.C7H13NO4S.Na)x) (B). The weight-average molecular weight of copolymer (B) is preferably 2 million to 30 million, more preferably 4 million to 20 million, more preferably 6 million to 14 million, and even more preferably 8 million to 12 million. The copolymer (B) is commercially available, for example, products containing the copolymer are sold by Seppic under trade names such as Sepino P600 and SIMULGEL 600, or by Alfa Chemistry under the trade name "acrylamide / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer". Sepino P600 and acrylamide / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer are more preferred. These products can be used alone or in combination of two or more, but use alone is preferred.

[0072] To impart a suitable viscosity to the above composition, the content of copolymer (B) is preferably 0.5 to 4.0% by weight, more preferably 0.7 to 3.5% by weight, and particularly preferably 1.0 to 3.0% by weight. Even with a small amount of copolymer (B), viscosity variations in the composition can be suppressed by using it in combination with a specific surfactant. Therefore, considering cost, the content of copolymer (B) is preferably 0.5 to 2.5% by weight, more preferably 1.0 to 2.0% by weight, and particularly preferably 1.3 to 1.7% by weight.

[0073] When the above composition contains at least one product selected from Sepino P600 (Seppic), SIMULGEL 600 (Seppic), and acrylamide / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer (Alfa Chemistry), its content is preferably 1.5 to 10% by weight, more preferably 2 to 9% by weight, and particularly preferably 3 to 8% by weight. Taking cost into account, the content of the above products is preferably 1.5 to 6.5% by weight, more preferably 2 to 6% by weight, particularly preferably 3 to 5% by weight, and even more preferably 3.5 to 4.5% by weight. As a preferred composition, a composition containing one of the above products in the above weight percentages can be cited as an example on page 4 / 19 of the specification, CN 122421942 A.

[0074] The above composition contains a specific surfactant (C). As described above, the copolymer (B) can impart an appropriate viscosity to the composition containing benzoyl peroxide; however, this viscosity decreases significantly over time, resulting in the inability to maintain the quality of the formulation. If the viscosity is reduced excessively further, benzoyl peroxide precipitation may occur. To address this problem, the change in viscosity over time can be suppressed by using a specific surfactant. Furthermore, the surfactant provides a composition that is easy to wash off the skin.

[0075] The surfactant (C) content in the above composition is preferably 0.2 to 10% by weight, more preferably 0.3 to 8.0% by weight, even more preferably 0.4 to 6.0% by weight, particularly preferably 0.5 to 5.0% by weight, further preferably 0.7 to 4.0% by weight, and most preferably 1.0 to 2.0% by weight.

[0076] The surfactant (C) comprises at least one selected from (c1), (c2), and (c3) below:

[0077] (c1) a combination of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and at least one anionic surfactant and / or nonionic surfactant;

[0078] (c2) at least one anionic surfactant selected from sodium lauryl sulfate, polyoxyethylene (POE) alkyl ether phosphate (here, the alkyl group preferably has 10 to 24 carbons, such as sodium POE oleyl ether phosphate, sodium POE lauryl ether phosphate, and sodium POE cetyl ether phosphate, etc.), polyoxyethylene (POE) alkyl ether sulfate (here, the alkyl group preferably has 10 to 24 carbons, such as sodium POE lauryl ether sulfate, etc.), and sodium lauroyl glutamate (N-lauroyl-L-sodium glutamate) (here, the average POE number of the surfactants containing POE is preferably 2 to 10, respectively);

[0079] (c3) A combination of sodium oleate and at least one anionic surfactant and / or nonionic surfactant.

[0080] Examples of anionic and / or nonionic surfactants used in combination with sodium lauroyl sarcosinate (c1) or sodium oleate (c3) include:

[0081] • Examples of anionic surfactants: sodium salts of sulfates of higher aliphatic alcohols (alcohols with 6 or more carbon atoms, preferably 8 to 24 carbon atoms) (e.g., sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium cetyl sulfate), POE alkyl ether phosphates (here, the alkyl group preferably has 10 to 24 carbon atoms. For example, sodium POE oleyl ether phosphate, sodium POE lauryl ether phosphate, and sodium POE cetyl ether phosphate), and POE alkyl ether sulfates (here, the alkyl group preferably has 10 to 24 carbon atoms. For example, sodium POE lauryl ether sulfate), sodium salts of long-chain fatty acids (fatty acids with 12 or more carbon atoms, preferably 14 to 24 carbon atoms) (e.g., sodium stearate) (here, the average POE number of the surfactants containing POE is preferably 2 to 10).

[0082] Examples of nonionic surfactants: polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene (POE / POP) diol (here, the average POE number is preferably 2-200, 4-100, 8-50, or 10-30, and the average POP number is preferably 2-100, 4-70, 5-50, or 10-30), fatty acid alkanolamides (here, the number of carbon atoms in the fatty acid is preferably 6-22, and the number of carbon atoms in the alkanol is preferably 2-10. For example, lauric acid diethanolamide and coconut oil fatty acid diethanolamide, etc.), fatty acid polyglycerol esters (here, the number of carbon atoms in the fatty acid is preferably 10-24. For example, decaglycerol laurate), polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers (here, the number of carbon atoms in the alkyl group is preferably 10-24, and the average POE number is preferably 2-30 or 10-20. For example, POE behenyl ether)

[0083] Surfactant (C) can simultaneously satisfy (c1) and (c2). That is, surfactant (C) may comprise a combination of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and an anionic surfactant described in (c2).

[0084] Surfactant (C) may simultaneously satisfy (c2) and (c3). That is, surfactant (C) may comprise a combination of sodium oleate and an anionic surfactant described in (c2).

[0085] Surfactant (C) may simultaneously satisfy (c1) and (c3). That is, surfactant (C) may comprise a combination of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and sodium oleate.

[0086] Surfactant (C) may satisfy only one of (c1) to (c3). Specification 5 / 19 pages 8 CN 122421942 A

[0087] For example, surfactant (C) may satisfy only (c1).That is, surfactant (C) may include:

[0088] a combination of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and a nonionic surfactant (preferably POE / POP diol, laurate diethanolamide, decaglycerol laurate, POE behenyl ether, coconut oil fatty acid diethanolamide), or

[0089] a combination of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and an anionic surfactant that is not part of (c2) and (c3) sodium oleate.

[0090] Surfactant (C) may also only satisfy (c2). That is, surfactant (C) may include anionic surfactants selected from (c2), but not sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and sodium oleate. The content of the anionic surfactants in (c2) is preferably 0.2 to 6.0% by weight, more preferably 0.3 to 5.0% by weight, more preferably 0.5 to 4.0% by weight, more preferably 0.5 to 3.0% by weight, and most preferably 0.5 to 2.0% by weight.

[0091] Surfactant (C) may also satisfy only (c3). That is, surfactant (C) may include:

[0092] • Sodium oleate and a nonionic surfactant (preferably POE / POP diol, lauric acid diethanolamide, decaglycerol laurate, POE behenyl ether, coconut oil fatty acid diethanolamide) or

[0093] • Sodium oleate and an anionic surfactant that is not part of (c2) and (c1) sodium lauroyl sarcosinate.

[0094] Although sodium lauroyl sarcosinate (c1) and sodium oleate (c3) cannot adequately maintain the viscosity of the above composition when used alone, they exhibit a high viscosity change suppression effect when combined with other anionic or nonionic surfactants (for example, they can maintain the viscosity of the composition after storage at 40°C for 3 months to more than 50% of the initial viscosity, preferably 55 to 140%, more preferably 80 to 120%, and particularly preferably 90 to 110%).

[0095] More specifically, the following effects can be confirmed:

[0096] • When other anionic or nonionic surfactants alone cannot maintain the appropriate viscosity, the appropriate viscosity can also be maintained by combining with sodium lauroyl sarcosinate or sodium oleate;

[0097] • When other anionic or nonionic surfactants can maintain the appropriate viscosity at high concentrations but cannot at low concentrations, the appropriate viscosity can be maintained even at low concentrations by combining with sodium lauroyl sarcosinate or sodium oleate;

[0098] • When other anionic or nonionic surfactants alone can maintain the appropriate viscosity at low concentrations, the effect of suppressing viscosity changes becomes even greater by combining with sodium lauroyl sarcosinate or sodium oleate.

[0099] When the surfactant (C) satisfies (c1), the content of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is preferably 0.2 to 3.0% by weight, for example, 0.2 to 2.0% by weight (more preferably 0.2 to 1.5% by weight, particularly preferably 0.3 to 1.2% by weight, and even more preferably 0.4 to 1.0% by weight).

[0100] The content of anionic surfactant and / or nonionic surfactant is preferably 0.1 to 3.0% by weight in total (more preferably 0.1 to 2.0% by weight, particularly preferably 0.3 to 1.5% by weight, and even more preferably 0.4 to 1.5% by weight, 0.4 to 1.0% by weight, or 0.4 to 0.7% by weight). Here, the anionic surfactant may be a surfactant belonging to (c2) or a surfactant not belonging to (c2).

[0101] As a preferred example of surfactant (C) satisfying at least (c1) and optionally (c2), the following can be cited:

[0102] · Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, and

[0103] · At least one anionic surfactant and / or nonionic surfactant selected from sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cetyl sulfate, sodium POE oleyl ether phosphate, sodium POE lauryl ether phosphate, sodium POE cetyl ether phosphate, sodium POE lauryl ether sulfate, sodium stearate, diethanolamide lauryl ether, decaglyceryl laurate, and POE behenyl ether (confirmed by referring to the specification, page 6 / 19, 9 CN 122421942 A) They, when combined with sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, can maintain viscosity variation in the range of 65-130%; more preferably, they are at least one anionic surfactant selected from sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cetyl sulfate, sodium POE oleyl ether phosphate, and sodium POE lauryl ether sulfate; particularly preferably, they are combinations of at least one anionic surfactant selected from sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium cetyl sulfate.

[0104] When the above surfactant (C) satisfies (c3), the content of sodium oleate is preferably 0.2-2.0% by weight, for example, 0.2-1.5% by weight (more preferably 0.3-1.2% by weight, particularly preferably 0.4-1.0% by weight),

[0105] The content of anionic surfactant and / or nonionic surfactant is preferably 0.1-2.0% by weight in total (more preferably 0.3-1.5% by weight, particularly preferably 0.4-1.2% by weight, 0.4-1.0% by weight, or 0.4-0.7% by weight). Here, anionic surfactants can be surfactants belonging to (c2) or surfactants not belonging to (c2).

[0106] As a preferred example when surfactant (C) at least satisfies (c3) and optionally satisfies (c2), examples include:

[0107] • Sodium oleate and

[0108] • A combination of at least one anionic surfactant selected from sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cetyl sulfate, sodium POE oleyl ether phosphate, and sodium POE lauryl ether sulfate.

[0109] In particular, when sodium lauroyl sarcosinate (c1) or sodium oleate (c3) is used in combination with an anionic surfactant, a tendency to effectively suppress the viscosity variation of the above composition is observed. Therefore, as a preferred example when satisfying (c1) or (c3), a combination of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate or sodium oleate with an anionic surfactant can be cited.

[0110] In particular, based on the results of in vitro skin permeability tests in hairless mice, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is expected to improve the skin permeability of benzoyl peroxide. In addition, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate also has good compatibility with copolymer (B). Therefore, as a preferred example of the surfactant (C) of the present invention, a combination of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and an anionic surfactant can be cited.

[0111] The above composition contains at least one aqueous solvent (D) selected from water and water-soluble solvents. As a preferred example of an aqueous solvent, water (preferably purified water) and a polyol can be cited. As an example of a polyol, a polyol having 3 to 6 carbon atoms can be cited. More preferably, a polyol selected from glycerol, propylene glycol, and 1,3-butanediol can be cited. The above aqueous solvents can be used alone or in combination.

[0112] The content of the aqueous solvent (D) is preferably 70% by weight or more, more preferably 80% by weight or more, and particularly preferably 85% by weight or more. The upper limit of the aqueous solvent (D) is preferably 95% by weight or less, more preferably 94% by weight or less. The appropriate range of the content of the aqueous solvent (D) is 70 to 95% by weight, more preferably 80 to 95% by weight, and particularly preferably 85 to 94% by weight.

[0113] The above composition may contain both (d1) polyol and (d2) water (preferably purified water) as an aqueous solvent (D). For example, it may contain 1 to 20% by weight of polyol and 60% or more by weight of water, or 2 to 10% by weight of polyol and 70% or more by weight of water, or 3 to 7% by weight of polyol and 75% or 80% or more by weight of water. The weight percentages of (d1) and (d2) mentioned above are not the total amount of aqueous solvent (D), but refer to the weight percentages when the total amount of the above composition is set to 100% by weight.

[0114] It should be noted that lower monohydric alcohols (monohydric alcohols with 1 to 3 carbon atoms, such as ethanol and isopropanol) may also be used as aqueous solvent (D). However, since lower monohydric alcohols are irritating to the skin, the composition of the present invention preferably does not contain lower monohydric alcohols.In this specification, "substantially does not contain lower monohydric alcohols" means that lower monohydric alcohols are not intentionally added during the preparation of the composition. Therefore, the content of lower monohydric alcohols in the composition is generally less than 1.0% by weight, more preferably less than 0.5% by weight, and particularly preferably 0% by weight.

[0115] In order to reduce the side effects caused by benzoyl peroxide, the above composition is used by removing it from the affected skin (e.g., washing or wiping it off) after contact with the affected skin for a given time (e.g., 1 to 30 minutes, 2 to 20 minutes, 3 to 15 minutes, or about 5 to 10 minutes) from the point of application. Therefore, the above composition preferably does not contain oily components so that it can be quickly and easily removed from the affected skin. In this specification, "substantially does not contain oily components" means that the proportion of oily components in the total amount of the composition is 4.0% by weight or less, preferably 3.0% by weight or less, and more preferably 2.0% by weight or less.

[0116] The pH value of the above composition is preferably 3 to 7. If the pH is less than 3, it is irritating to the skin; if it is greater than 7, the stability of benzoyl peroxide deteriorates. A more preferred pH value is 3 to 6, and a particularly preferred pH value is 3 to 4.5. Examples of pH adjusters include diisopropanolamine, triisopropanolamine, triethanolamine, potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, citric acid hydrate, sodium citrate hydrate, phosphoric acid, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, tartaric acid, dl-malic acid, and glacial acetic acid. The above pH adjusters can be used alone or in combination.

[0117] The viscosity of the above composition is not particularly limited as long as it can maintain benzoyl peroxide in a dispersed state; however, it is preferably 200 mPa·s or more, or 400 mPa·s or more, more preferably 500 mPa·s or more, further preferably 1000 mPa·s or more, and particularly preferably 1300 mPa·s or more. Regarding the upper limit of viscosity, considering ease of application to the skin, it is preferably 10,000 mPa·s or less, more preferably 7,000 mPa·s or less or 6,000 mPa·s or less, and particularly preferably 4,000 mPa·s or less or 3,000 mPa·s or less. Examples of suitable viscosity ranges include 500–7,000 mPa·s, 800–5,000 mPa·s, 900–4,000 mPa·s, and 1,000–3,000 mPa·s. In this specification, viscosity refers to the viscosity after 30 seconds of rotation using a cone-plate viscometer (modular compact rheometer) at a measurement temperature of 25°C, cone plate No. 50-1, and rotation speed of 10 rpm.

[0118] The above composition may contain other additives commonly used in topical skin preparations.Examples of other additives include antioxidants (ascorbic acid, butylated hydroxytoluene, butylated hydroxyanisole, α-tocopherol, tocopheryl acetate, propyl gallate, sodium bisulfite, sodium sulfite, sodium metabisulfite, isoascorbic acid, etc.), stabilizers (sodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate hydrate, 1-menthol, etc.), preservatives (para-hydroxybenzoate, phenoxyethanol, etc.), colorants (titanium oxide, etc.), humectants, buffers, solubilizers, etc., and any combination thereof. The total content of other additives is preferably 5% by weight or less, more preferably 3% by weight or less, and particularly preferably 2% by weight or less.

[0119] The above composition may not contain silicone compounds (siloxanes, etc.) and / or zinc compounds. The above composition may not contain a hydrophobic phase. The above composition may not contain malonic acid and / or aryl benzoate. The above composition may not contain amphoteric surfactants. The above composition may not contain cannabinoids, terpenes, and / or flavonoids. Even without these components, the above composition can achieve the desired effect.

[0120] As a particularly preferred example of the above composition, a composition (especially a gelling agent) containing the following components can be cited:

[0121] (A) benzoyl peroxide;

[0122] (B) acrylamide / sodium acryloyl dimethyl taurate copolymer;

[0123] (C) sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and at least one anionic surfactant selected from sodium salts of sulfates of higher aliphatic alcohols, POE alkyl ether phosphates, POE alkyl ether sulfates, and sodium salts of long-chain fatty acids (more preferably selected from sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cetyl sulfate, sodium POE oleyl ether phosphate, sodium POE lauryl ether phosphate, sodium POE cetyl ether phosphate, sodium POE oleyl ether phosphate, sodium POE lauryl ether phosphate, sodium POE cetyl ether phosphate, sodium lauryl ether phosphate, sodium POE ole ... Sodium lauryl ether sulfate and at least one anionic surfactant of sodium stearate, particularly preferably a combination of sodium lauryl ether sulfate, sodium cetyl ether sulfate, sodium POE oleyl ether phosphate, and at least one anionic surfactant of sodium POE lauryl ether sulfate, further preferably a combination of sodium lauryl ether sulfate and at least one anionic surfactant of sodium cetyl ether sulfate; Specification 8 / 19 pages 11 CN 122421942 A

[0124] (D) An aqueous solvent comprising polyol and water.

[0125] Particularly preferred are compositions (especially gelling agents) containing (A) to (D) in a total content of 95% by weight or more, 97% by weight or more, or 98% by weight or more.

[0126] In addition, in the particularly preferred example described above, the content of (A) is preferably 1.0 to 20% by weight (more preferably 1.5 to 15% by weight, particularly preferably 2.0 to 12% by weight, further preferably 2.5 to 11% by weight or 5.0 to 10% by weight), the content of (B) is preferably 0.5 to 4.0% by weight (more preferably 0.7 to 3.5% by weight, 1.0 to 3.0% by weight, 1.0 to 2.5% by weight, or 1.0 to 2.0% by weight, particularly preferably 1.3 to 1.7% by weight), the content of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and anionic surfactant in (C) is preferably 0.2 to 1.5% by weight (more preferably 0.3 to 1.2% by weight, particularly preferably 0.4 to 1.0% by weight), and the content of (D) is preferably 70 to 95% by weight (more preferably 80 to 94% by weight, particularly preferably 85 to 93% by weight).

[0127] In a particularly preferred example described above, as copolymer (B), at least one of the commercially available products comprising the copolymer, selected from Sepino P600 (Seppic), SIMULGEL 600 (Seppic), and acrylamide / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer (Alfa Chemistry), can be used. When the composition comprises the above-mentioned commercially available products, its content is preferably 2 to 10% by weight (more preferably 2 to 9% by weight, 3 to 8% by weight, 3 to 6% by weight, or 3 to 5% by weight, particularly preferably 3.5 to 4.5% by weight). For example, the composition may comprise one of the above-mentioned commercially available products in the above-mentioned weight percentages.

[0128] The above-described composition can be used for the prevention and treatment of acne. For example, it can be used (but is not limited to) for the prevention and treatment of acne vulgaris, comedonal acne or polymorphic acne, rosacea-like acne, nodular cystic acne, conglobate acne, senile acne or secondary acne (e.g., solar acne), drug-induced acne or occupational acne. The amount and frequency of application can be appropriately adjusted according to the severity of symptoms, the concentration of benzoyl peroxide in the composition, etc. For example, when used on the face, the amount of composition covering the affected area is applied to the skin with acne once or twice a day. Moreover, after a given time (e.g., 1 to 30 minutes, 2 to 20 minutes, 3 to 15 minutes, or about 5 to 10 minutes) from the time of application to the affected skin, the composition is removed from the affected skin (e.g., washed off or wiped off).

[0129] In the foregoing paragraphs, the essential components used in the compositions of the present invention and the preferred compound names of any components have been described; however, the compositions of the present invention also include compositions obtained by any combination of them and compositions obtained by any combination of the contents of each component.Furthermore, the numerical ranges for viscosity, pH, content, etc., can be arbitrarily combined, and when multiple numerical ranges are recorded, the upper or lower limits of each numerical range can also be arbitrarily combined.

[0130] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail by way of examples, however, the present invention is not limited to the examples.

[0131] [Example 1]

[0132] Preparation of Formulation

[0133] A commercially available thickener (Sepineo P600; Seppic) containing acrylamide / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer was used. Sepineo P600 is a mixture of raw materials containing acrylamide / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, isohexadecane, polysorbate 80, sorbitan oleate and water.

[0134] Various surfactants and pH adjusters were added to an aqueous solvent (mainly purified water) and stirred until homogeneous, thereby dissolving it. Sepineo P600 was added to the resulting solution and stirred until homogeneous, thereby preparing an aqueous phase. Benzoyl peroxide was added to the aqueous phase and stirred until homogeneous, thereby preparing a formulation (suspending gel) with the composition shown in Table 1.

[0135] Viscosity determination

[0136] Appropriate amounts of each formulation were collected and the viscosity (n=3) of each formulation was determined using a modular compact rheometer under the following conditions. The initial viscosity and the viscosity after storage at 50°C for 2 weeks to 1 month or at 40°C for 1 to 3 months were determined, and the ratio of the stored viscosity to the initial viscosity was calculated.

[0137] · Fixture CP50-1

[0138] · Rotation speed 10 rpm

[0139] · Measurement temperature 25.0°C ± 0.1°C

[0140] · Measurement time 30 seconds

[0141] The results are shown in Table 1. The values of each component shown in Table 1 are by weight%. The “trace amount” for pH adjusters in the table refers to the amount necessary to adjust the pH to approximately 4, i.e., less than 1% by weight. The aqueous solvents in the table are purified water and polyols (essentially purified water). “Sufficient amount” means the amount needed to make the total formulation 100% by weight. The ratio to the initial viscosity is calculated by dividing the stored viscosity by the initial viscosity and then multiplying the result by 100 (the same applies to other tables).

[0142]

[0143] As can be clearly seen from Table 1, if the formulation containing benzoyl peroxide is thickened with Sepineo P600 (a product containing acrylamide / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer), although it is gel-like immediately after preparation, the viscosity decreases significantly over time as time passes (see Formulation 1). The viscosity after storage at 40°C for 3 months is preferably in the range of 50% to 140% of the initial viscosity; however, the viscosity of Formulation 1 after 3 months at 40°C is only 5% of the initial viscosity, and the thickening effect of the copolymer is almost completely lost.

[0144] In contrast, the inventors have found that by adding the surfactant shown in Table 1, the decrease in viscosity of the gelling agent can be significantly suppressed (see Formulations 2 to 15). It was observed that the effect of suppressing viscosity decrease increases with the increase of the amount of surfactant.

[0145] [Example 2]

[0146] Furthermore, the inventors discovered that by using sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, which is used as an anionic surfactant, in conjunction with other anionic or nonionic surfactants, the decrease in viscosity of the gel can be suppressed more effectively. This result was unexpected since sodium lauroyl sarcosinate alone could not sufficiently suppress the decrease in viscosity of the gel.

[0147] The types of surfactants used in conjunction with sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and the ratio of the viscosity after storage to the initial viscosity are shown in Tables 2 and 3. In Table 3, "cannot be prepared" in the ratio to the initial viscosity column means that the formulation preparation was abandoned without the addition of benzoyl peroxide because the aqueous solvent containing the surfactant and the above copolymer could not be homogeneous when stirred. "-" in the same column indicates that no measurement was performed and therefore no data was available (the same applies to other tables). Instruction manual, pages 12 / 19, 15 CN 122421942 A

[0148] Instruction manual, pages 13 / 19, 16 CN 122421942 A

[0149]

[0150]

[0151] As shown in Tables 2 and 3, when sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is added only at 0.5% by weight, the viscosity decreases to 35% of the initial viscosity after storage at 40°C for 3 months, failing to maintain the initial usability (Formulation 16). However, when sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is used in combination with other anionic / nonionic surfactants, even at low concentrations of both surfactants, viscosity variation can be significantly suppressed.This effect was observed with both anionic and nonionic surfactants (pages 14 / 19, CN 122421942 A, specification), but a higher effect was observed, particularly when used in combination with anionic surfactants.

[0152] For example, the viscosity of formulation 8 (sodium POE cetyl ether phosphate concentration = 1.0 wt%) after 3 months at 40°C was 63% of the initial viscosity, while that of formulation 32 (sodium lauroyl sarcosinate + sodium POE cetyl ether phosphate total concentration = 1.0 wt%) was 84%. Furthermore, the viscosity of formulation 12 (sodium POE lauryl ether sulfate concentration = 1.0 wt%) after 3 months at 40°C was 78% of the initial viscosity, while that of formulation 34 (sodium lauroyl sarcosinate + sodium POE lauryl ether sulfate total concentration = 0.625 wt%) was 105%. Furthermore, sodium cetyl sulfate failed to adequately suppress viscosity changes at any concentration of 0.5%, 2.0%, 4.0%, and 10% by weight (at any concentration, the viscosity after 3 months at 40°C was less than 50% of the initial viscosity. Data not shown). However, in formulation 23 (total concentration of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate + sodium cetyl sulfate = 1.0% by weight), it was 90%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that by using sodium lauroyl sarcosinate in combination with anionic or nonionic surfactants, viscosity changes can be suppressed more efficiently with a smaller total amount of surfactant compared to using anionic or nonionic surfactants alone.

[0153] [Example 3]

[0154] In addition, the inventors found that by using sodium oleate, which is an anionic surfactant, in combination with other surfactants, the decrease in viscosity of the gelling agent can also be suppressed more efficiently. Since it is impossible to make the aqueous solvent containing the above copolymer uniform when using sodium oleate alone, this result is unexpected.

[0155] The types of surfactants used in combination with sodium oleate and the ratio of the viscosity after storage to the initial viscosity are shown in Table 4.

[0156]

[0157] As shown in Table 4, the formulation (formulation 47) could not be prepared when sodium oleate was used only in an amount of 0.5% by weight. However, by using sodium oleate in combination with other surfactants, viscosity variation was significantly suppressed. In addition, the viscosity variation was more suppressed when used in combination with sodium oleate than when other surfactants were used alone.

[0158] [Example 4]

[0159] A formulation (suspending gel) with varying amounts of benzoyl peroxide was prepared, and the ratio of the viscosity after storage to the initial viscosity was studied. The results are shown in Table 5.

[0160]

[0161] As shown in Table 5, even when the concentration of benzoyl peroxide is changed, a gel with little viscosity variation can be obtained with a small amount of surfactant.

[0162] As shown in the above examples, by using specific surfactants, the thickening effect of copolymer (B) on the composition can be maintained even over time. It was also confirmed that each composition is easy to remove from the skin after being applied to and left on for 1 to 30 minutes. Therefore, the compositions of the present invention are suitable for use by removing them from the affected area after being applied to and left on for a given time.

[0163] [Example 5]

[0164] A formulation (suspending gel) was prepared by the same method as in Example 1 using a commercially available product different from Sepineo P600 (trade name "acrylamide / acryloyl dimethyl taurate copolymer": manufactured by Alfa Chemistry, hereinafter referred to as Alfa product), and the same experiment was performed. Alfa products are formulations comprising 35-40% by weight of acrylamide / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, 20-25% by weight of isohexadecane, 5-10% by weight of polysorbate 80, 0-5% by weight of sorbitan oleate, and water. The results are shown in Table 6. In Table 6, the values in parentheses in the Alfa product column are the percentage by weight of acrylamide / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer contained in the Alfa product. Specification 16 / 19 pages 19 CN 122421942 A

[0165]

[0166] As shown in Table 6, the same results as Sepineo P600 can be obtained when using Alfa products. Specifically, the benzoyl peroxide-containing product thickened with Alfa product was gel-like immediately after preparation, but its viscosity decreased significantly over time. After storage at 50°C for 1 month and at 40°C for 3 months, the thickening effect was almost completely lost, and it became liquid (see Formulation 59). In addition, when only sodium lauroyl sarcosinate was added (Formulation 60), the viscosity change could not be sufficiently suppressed, and the initial usability could not be maintained. When only sodium oleate was added (Formulation 63), benzoyl peroxide could not be evenly dispersed, and even the preparation of the formulation could not be completed smoothly.

[0167] In contrast, the combination of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate or sodium oleate with sodium lauryl sulfate or diethanolamide lauryl sulfate could significantly suppress the viscosity change, and it was easy to remove from the skin after being applied and left on.

[0168] [Example 6]

[0169] Formulations (suspended gels) were prepared by varying the amount of Sepineo P600 or Alfa product, and the ratio of viscosity after storage to initial viscosity was studied.The results are shown in Table 7 (the values in parentheses in the Alfa product column are the weight % of the acrylamide / acryloyl dimethyl taurate copolymer contained in the Alfa product).

[0170]

[0171] As shown in Table 7, Sepineo P600 and Alfa products, regardless of their dosage, can provide gels with minimal viscosity variation when combined with specific surfactants. In particular, gels containing a combination of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and anionic surfactants exhibit minimal viscosity variation. [18 / 19, CN 122421942 A] [19 / 19, CN 122421942 A]
