Abstract

A vertical axis wind turbine with a multi-stage rotor for the production of electricity includes a mandrel (1) firmly and vertically installed in the ground, around which a cylindrical roller (2) rotates, which has holders (3) attached to it, blades (4) are placed on the holders, along with stops (5 and 6), at the bottom of the cylindrical roller is a rotation transmission (7), connected to a multiplier (8), a flywheel (9), and a generator (10). The new shape of the rotor, in a vertical axis wind turbine, improves the use of energy from wind, underwater sea currents and running water, while the arrangement of its constituent elements during their return allows the position of the blades to change from a vertical to a horizontal position and reduces their surface area and with it the resistance to rotation in the wind in comparison to fixed blades known in the current state of the art.
