Abstract
The "BOVVA" system is a hybrid network of submersible anchor buoys (1) controlled by two-channel wireless communication (22,24). Each buoy comprises a tank of compressed air (16), a compressor (18) and an inflatable blister (8) that enable surfacing and submersion. The underwater acoustic modem (24) receives commands while the buoy is submerged, and upon surfacing, the surface communication module (22) is activated, which can use GSM, UMTS, LTE, LTE-M, NB-IoT, 4G, 5G, satellite IoT connection, Wi-Fi or another wireless standard. A solar powered base station (26) connects to multiple buoys and comprises a sensor module (30) for environmental data. The digital platform enables booking, billing, navigation and real-time analytics. The safety mechanism automatically surfaces the buoy when the battery voltage is low or a malfunction is detected. The system guarantees availability of connections, reduces operating costs and emissions, and provides a scalable, environmentally friendly anchorage infrastructure.
