System for meter reading using optical character recognition and data transfer with dynamic QR code option

Abstract

The invention relates to a system for digital reading of existing meters using a mobile device (3) and OCR technology (4), where the reading is performed by automatic processing of a photo of the meter. The system can additionally use dynamic QR codes (2) as an auxiliary means for identification and positioning, but is not dependent on them. After user confirmation, the data is sent to the distributor via a protected system. The solution is economical, accessible and applicable without changing existing equipment.
