Split feeding process and feed mixture for laying hens

Abstract

The present application relates to a process for feeding laying hens, in which the daily feed ration is given to the hens in two phases, during morning and afternoon feeding, where the protein content of the morning feed is higher and the calcium content is lower than that of the afternoon feed.  The morning ration contains 13-15 % crude protein, 1.50-2% calcium, 0.20-0.75% phosphorus and 10-11.3 MJ of metabolizable energy based on 1 kg of feed having a moisture content of 12%.  The afternoon ration contains 12-13.5% crude protein, 4-5.5% calcium, 0.1-0.8% phosphorus, and 9.8-11.3 MJ of metabolizable energy based on 1 kg of feed having a moisture content of 12%.  The present application relates to a morning and an afternoon feed mixture that can be used for such a split feeding procedure.
