Abstract

A battery (1) comprising a cell (13), a housing (12) and a cover assembly (11), the cell (13) being received in the housing (12); the cover assembly (11) being connected to each of the cell (13) and the housing (12); characterised in that the cover assembly (11) comprises: a cover plate (111) disposed at a first end of the housing (12) and connected to a second electrode tab (132) of the cell (13); a bus bar plate (112) disposed in the housing (12) and connected to an end of the cell (13) and connected to the first electrode tab (131) of the cell (13), the bus bar plate (112) being provided with a connection element; and a terminal (113) penetrating the second end of the housing (12) and electrically connecting the connection element to the bus bar plate (112); wherein the first end of the housing (12) and the second end of the housing (12) are two opposite ends of the housing (12), and there is a gap between the busbar plate (112) and the terminal (113);andan energy absorbing structure (114), wherein the energy absorbing structure (114) is connected to each of the terminal (113), the housing (12) and the busbar plate (112);wherein the energy absorbing structure (114) includes a sealing ring (1141) and a plastic insert (1142); the sealing ring (1141) is arranged between the housing (12) and the terminal (113); the plastic insert (1142) is arranged between the housing (12) and the busbar plate (112); wherein the plastic insert (1142) includes a central portion (11424) and an insulating portion (11423), the insulating portion (11423) is arranged around the outer periphery of the central portion (11424) and extends from the central portion (11424) towards the busbar plate (112); the plastic insert (1142) covers the busbar plate (112), the insulating portion (11423) is arranged around the outer peripheral wall of the busbar plate (112); the insulating part (11423) is sandwiched between the busbar plate (112) and the housing (12), and the housing (12) is arranged to surround the outer peripheral wall of the insulating part (11423);wherein the cover plate (111) is provided with a welding portion (1111) and an explosion-proof valve (1112); the welding portion (1111) extends in a direction close to the cell (13) relative to the cover plate (111), and the explosion-proof valve (1112) extends in a direction distant from the cell (13) relative to the cover plate (111), wherein the cover plate (111) is provided with a liquid injection port (1114) and a liquid injection protrusion (1115), the liquid injection port (1114) coinciding with the axis of the cell (13); the liquid injection protrusion (1115) is arranged around the liquid injection opening (1114) and extends from the cover plate (111) toward the cell (13);
