Abstract
The invention relates to compounds of general formula (I) and their use for the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions. Substituted condensation products of N-benzyl-3-indenylacetamidos with heterocyclic aldehydes induce or promote apoptosis and arrest excessive cell proliferation, and are particularly useful in the arrest and treatment of neoplasias, including precancerous and cancerous lesions.
