Abstract

The present invention describes a novel natural hair dye composition containing (a) a mixture of basic salts, carboxyl amine compounds and / or organic developer agents that help open the hair cuticle, a disulfide bond reducing agent that helps better penetration of the dye which is a natural plant based extract; (b) a metal salt based mordant that forms a dye-metal complex. The present invention further describes a 2-step application method that provides better penetration and thereby improves color delivery and wash fastness.
