Abstract

A decoder (200) includes circuitry (251) and memory (252) connected to the circuitry (251). In operation, the circuitry (251): decodes, from a bit stream, basic facial image data associated with a facial video, and geometric information corresponding to each frame of the facial video and indicating geometric attributes within a region encompassing a person's face (S701); further decodes, from the bit stream, control information that is information related to the reliability or availability of the geometric information; a concealment parameter related to an error recovery control for when the geometric information is not appropriately obtained in an encoder (S702); and generates a facial video using a generative model of the basic data, geometric information, and concealment parameter control information (S703).
