Abstract
An objective of this study is to provide a ride-on type vehicle including a high-voltage hybrid system that is compact, lightweight, and capable of accommodating a range of engine rotation speeds. The ride-on type vehicle includes an engine, a drive wheel, a high-voltage power supply system, a permanent magnet motor generator, a high-voltage energy storage device, and a MG control unit. The MG control unit uses a high voltage, which is higher than that of a low-voltage battery, to perform a field weakening control on the permanent magnet motor generator. The permanent magnet motor generator includes a rotor rotating at the same speed as the engine, with a number of magnetic poles greater than 2 / 3 of the number of teeth. This configuration increases the reactance due to the greater number of magnetic poles, thereby increasing the level of voltage suppression achieved through field weakening control.Furthermore, at high engine speeds, high-voltage field weakening control allows the field weakening current component to be supplied to the coil by overcoming the increased reactance, effectively accommodating the full engine speed range.
