Abstract
This study provides a riding type vehicle including a compact and lightweight high-voltage hybrid system. The riding type vehicle includes an engine, a drive wheel, a high-voltage power supply system, a first permanent magnet motor generator, a first MG control unit, and a first power transfer device electrically connected to the high-voltage power supply system. No secondary battery functioning at high voltage is electrically connected to the high-voltage power supply system. The first MG control unit uses a high voltage, which is higher than a low-voltage battery, to perform a field weakening control on the first permanent magnet motor generator. The first permanent magnet motor generator includes a rotor rotating at the same speed as the engine, with a number of magnetic poles greater than 2 / 3 of the number of teeth.The greater the number of magnetic poles, the greater the reactance, thus increasing the level of voltage suppression achieved through field weakening control. At high engine speeds, high-voltage field weakening control allows the field weakening current component to be supplied to the coil by overcoming the increased reactance, effectively accommodating the full engine speed range.
