Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of papermaking. In particular, the present invention relates to a method for preparing a coating agent. The method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (1) pre-adding a first portion of TEA of total TEA to a reaction system containing HEEL to obtain a reaction system containing HEEL with pre-added TEA; and (2) adding a second portion of TEA of total TEA and FACl to the reaction system containing HEEL with pre-added TEA to carry out a reaction, wherein the weight percentage of the first portion of total TEA is not more than 90% of the total TEA. The method according to the present invention can reduce the viscosity of the reaction system and / or enable operation without toluene.
