Abstract
The present invention relates to a biaxially oriented metallized polypropylene (mBOPP) plastic film sheet product for hermetic flexible packaging applications. The sheet product includes six layers: a main layer C, a T1 layer located on the first side of the main layer C, a B layer located on the upper side of the T1 layer, an M layer located on the upper side of the B layer, a T2 layer located on the second side of the main layer C and an A layer located on the lower side of the T2 layer. The main layer C includes a polypropylene homopolymer material and a polypropylene elastomer, the T1 layer includes a grafted polypropylene-maleic anhydride (PPgMAH) material, the B layer includes an ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) material, the M layer includes an aluminum material, the T2 layer includes a polypropylene copolymer material, the A layer includes a polypropylene copolymer material and an antiblock additive, having a coefficient of friction (COF) value below 0.8.This mBOPP film product has a sealing strength above 1200 grams / 25mm; elastic modulus below 1300 N / mm2, WVTR below 0.3 grams / m2.day and O2TR below 0.3 cc / m2.day. The total film thickness is between 15 to 50µm with a specific gravity variation of 0.60 to 0.95 grams / cm3.
