Blurring System for Transparent Polymer Substrates

Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of improved opaque transparent polymer substrates (x00) for use in making security documents such as for example banknotes, said substrates (x00) combining good mechanical performance and being easily handled for subsequent multi-stage security printing processes.In particular, the present invention provides a kit for manufacturing a blurring system (x10) on either one side or on both sides of a transparent polymer substrate (xx0), said kit comprising a) a first composition for manufacturing a blurring layer (x11), b) a second composition for manufacturing a conductive layer (x12), and c) a third composition for manufacturing a receiving layer (x13), wherein the first, second and third compositions include i) water, ii) a water-soluble or water-insoluble resin, iii) a white pigment, iv) a wax, wherein at least one of the first, second and third compositions includes an antistatic agent, and wherein at least two of the first, second and third compositions contain a mica compound.
