Abstract

This invention discloses a method for producing a negative ion device for preventing and treating airborne viral infections. Specifically, water is added to crushed tourmaline stones to moisten them without completely submerging them, and additional air pressure is applied to the surface of the moistened tourmaline stones. The piezoelectric properties of tourmaline are utilized to produce a piezoelectric electrode, which causes the surrounding water molecules to ionize and produce hydroxyl ions and hydrogen ions. The hydrogen ions rapidly disperse after being discharged by a fan. After the hydroxyl ions release electrons, water and oxygen are produced, and these electrons combine with oxygen molecules blown by the fan and those generated by the reaction itself to form true negative ions by Brownian motion.
