Abstract

This invention concerns a pharmaceutical composition in the form of phosphatidylcholine-based nanoliposomes from Argomulyo soybean variety formulated for the encapsulation of non-viral genetic material, specifically single-stranded DNA (ssDNA). This composition includes the process of extraction and purification of phosphatidylcholine from Argomulyo soybean, liposome formation by thin-layer hydration method, and direct encapsulation of ssDNA into the vesicular structure of the liposome. This delivery system is characterized by a majority particle size distribution in the range of 150–300 nm, low zeta potential (–2 to –4 mV) which is proven to support formulation stability, and high encapsulation efficiency (>90%). This invention offers a safe, stable, and environmentally friendly genetic material delivery system based on local natural materials, making it highly potential to be developed as a non-viral delivery system technology in the fields of biotechnology and molecular therapy.
